Shite framing 2x8×14 are $25 a pop.... sold rough sawn = priceless
372xp is the best saw ever made. I put a new 85cc top end on it 10 years ago after I bought it and that thing with a 48” bar is a sawmillers best friend. My mill is on legs and I put a pump jack with a welded bar, in the middle of the track to jack up the smaller end and center the pith. That was a great upgrade. I wanna build an arm to hang over the mill with an atv winch to turn the logs. That will be a game changer. Turning a 40” log is a bear on the spine. I wish we had Douglas first in the north east. Such a great wood. No stress at all in those boards. Beautiful. Hate it when as you cut the board banana’s like Ron Jeremy and you realize you made high grade firewood.
I just checked my 372xpw. It says 75cc. 32" inch bar. A beast. And reliable as the tides. Yeah... an ATV winch deal would be cool. The Douglas Firs keeps me from 'Log Jammin'....At least I fixed the cable.
Finally! Fun video and some darn good production for the homestead! Good Job.

I wish we had logs like that here. I'm clearing 80 acers with 98% trash cotton wood trees huge and hollow. I have taken down like 300+ monster trees useless for lumber if it was all pine i would of had the biggest cabin in Alaska. One of the last trees i dropped was basically card board all the way up. So hollow I could crawl into it. The funny thing is the lumber your making is 100% better than anything at lowes up here. Alaska gets all the trash they can't sell down there. Lumber yard guys looking at trash grade f lumber awww just send it to Alaska they cant afford to ship it back lol. You wait 6 months for a lumber package and when it shows up its green and mostly knots than it dries/ warps like the dick on a dog. NICE WOOD BRAH :0

I've got a 24-footer with the same diameter at the bottom of the log pile. My floor at the Circle Bar is cement. Which I like. Need to skin the interior with 1 x's tho. Plus, expanding another barn bay into a bathroom-shower-laundry room. Overall, I need a ton of 2x6's to double up barn rafters and vertical blocking. Plus the build out.

@@OffGridandWhiskey Maybe hose and blow that floor off real good before you get started and spread a good coat of garage floor paint around. Not that poly stuff. PITA to do and is slippery as hell when wet (good name for a song!). Just an idea. Paint before you start so less 'stuff' to paint around. Maybe do another coat when yer done building.

My cat 312 with a thumb and the skid steer with forks make it so easy on me now. I made an extension on the the bed so I can mill 48”x36”35’ long. Milled over 65 timbers thjs year, gonna make a timber frame sunroom for the Mrs. Love the vids🫡

@@OffGridandWhiskey haha eastern white pine. I have about 60 acres full of massive pines. Been milling the ones that blow over. I skid with a 450c and winch. I shed a tear when yours broke down. Man that winch is powerful. The auto feed is awesome. Gives you a minute to drink a beer or smoke a fatty. I have a debarker on the mill, just a small engine starter motor with a large router bit, but if the logs have been downed 6 months the bark falls off and I don’t need the debarker. Basically only use it if I recently skidded the log and there’s mud on it like a rusty trombone.
