I recorded a simple 8 step sequence on the Doepfer dark time/energy combination. and in Reaper, I doubled the audio. for the first two bars they are played identically. but after that the speed of one of them increases by 1% (but pitch is kept the same). This causes a lot of interesting changes to the original sequence that is constantly evolving.

I recorded my modular synth, both in a direct digital way, and using the onboard mic of the RTM B-1000EW Cassette tape player. I know it's a pretty basic, and common effect. But I find it's always fascinating to listen to audio in reverse. With something like this Fostex X14 Cassette Recorder, it's as simple as flipping over the cassette. The Microbrute Tapeloop Through a Modular Synth

The tapeloop in this video was made in my previous video. th-cam.com/video/mMZWlStT83g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HMiyiFWDExX8cItW It is being played back by the Fostex X14, and played into the After Later Audio Clouds clone. which is being controlled by various other modules. I also use the pitch control mod on the cassette recorder to slow down the tape speed.
Making a Tapeloop With a Microbrute

To be honest, this didn't end up sounding too good. The tape I was using gets stuck when it passes by the capstan/pinch roller. Hence why the loop ends up kind of glitchy/jumpy and not smooth. And the Fostex X14 probably could be doing with some minor maintenance. But this was an experiment in making a tapeloop with an arturia Microbrute, and a Fostex x14 4 track cassette tape recorder.

I was messing around with the Roland JU-06A into a TC Electronics Flashback. which Is being recorded to a Fostex x14 cassette recorder. I was using the Flashback in my favorite way with long delay times that repeat and fade out over time.

This handmade Kalimba through my Modular

I bought this handmade Kalimba, and the tines don't really conform to any note, and it is impossible to tune correctly, nor do they ring out properly. However I find it sounds kind of charming. I recorded some random patterns on it, and then run the audio though my Modular Synth. The modules I mainly used were the Dreadbox Nostalgia, Erica Synths Pico DSP, and my After Later Audio Clouds clone.

Sorry about that! I never know if it’s better to leave the audio alone (and give a more realistic representation of what it sounds like, and how the controls react) or edit stuff like that so the levels are more consistent, and worry that it might misrepresent what’s being shown.
Nice distortion! What is it?
That’s just the sound of the synth. The microbrute has a control called “brute factor” which takes a copy of the output and reroutes it back into the synth. Which can add distortion.
