This and the Budokai HD collection=great times
Training was the only thing that was bland couldnt choose any map other than the one map plus the generic bgm
3:23 for this just hold R1 than input the down and O than you will perform the move. Also it only works when u trip ur opponent lol forgot that bit
Might go back and try this again for my redemption arc
@@PlayThroughTime. its easier when they are on the ground that way you have ample time to do it.
i think yall forget that theres not 2 but 3 soundtracks for this game. the japanese version has the original shunsuke kikuchi score + the anime insert songs in the game's soundfont. obv this guy doesnt know because he clearly is a surface level fan (and theres no shame in that) then we have in the US the yamamoto score and THEN in the reissue in 2011 bt2's soundtrack. saw nobody commented this yet so i had to inform u.
This game still has the best fighting gameplay in my opinion. This and bt3 are the best
It’s not a classic at all
Great Video. Remember playing this in my late teens.
2:42 Bruh that was hilarious
One hit point fights was challenging but in the most fun way possible… Especially for those of us that went through the tutorial and realized, it’s easy when you fight strategically
I think fighting games are just my Achilles heel in all honesty man, I've always sucked at them but loved them regardless.
@@PlayThroughTime. that’s how I used to be, sometimes you just gotta fall into a fighting game rabbit hole
Raging Blast2 is extremely badly balanced it couldve been an actually good fighting game but had to ruin it with too much broken nonsense
I didn't quite experience any broken balance, but then again I am bad at fighting games. What did you feel was broken in it? Always willing to learn!
Real ones grew up on Raging Blast 2
real ones grew up on BT2&3
Lmao them one health point missions used to kill me but it was all about the grind.
the pure nostalgia i get from this game, i always download it on my pc to play with my cousin also there is a version that has the original intro music, and i think game music
I remember hating on the art style of raging blast 2 and thinking they made the game ugly by downgrading from anime art style and choosing go to with the ugly 3D clay animation and Then I realized It was just raging blast 1 with downgraded graphics all DLC character’s from raging blast 1 where added and a cheaply made movie which could have been in the first one but instead they a wanted cash grab which is why it didn’t sell it good
Good video but you gave me a stroke with how you pronounce o v a
Thanks for the comment! Is it pronounced Oh-Vee-Ay? That's my bad and I apologize to the anime community for my blunder there!
I was a big fan of this game a decade ago. Hope sparking zero takes a lot from it.
Lost courage is better than any ost in og dbz
I actually quite liked that one, I just think there was some weird tracks that threw me off and after listening to the original Raging Blast 2 soundtrack, I can see the difference.
There are technically two sound tracks for this game. The first was way better, but it got replaced due to the composer copying other songs. The second sound track (which is the one you had) is definitely a down grade for most of the songs
Played this game is nice
RB2 soundtrack is using Budokai Tenkaichi 2 soundtrack
Raging blast always has been and will always be garbage🤷♂️
Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion to be fair! How come you feel it's garbage?
Raging blast is the second/third best series in dragin ball games it was budokai, budokai tenkaichi and then raging blast☠️
I was a beast at this game! Back on the ps4
You mean PS3?
Raging Blast was ahead of its time. The fact that it can actually support split screen with more than just one map
Bruh, you are really comparing a PS3/360 game era vs PS5/Series which look a lot better, much higher particle rate and destruction
@@Deadpool-ts3tq Yeah yeah, destruction this and particle lol. We talking about much powerful consoles, capable of more than what you could even imagine
@@LumisKnight More than what I could even imagine? HAHAHAHA, it's not a PC dude, they're not that powerful
@@Deadpool-ts3tq Still powerful compared to PS3
RB2 was really good, it got mixed reception mostly because people were disappointed by the small roster compared to Tenkaichi 3, and also because of the art style of the game that didn’t look as good as the classic cell shaded aspect from T3 But in terms of gameplay it was excellent, in fact it was even arguably better than T3 in my opinion They basically kept the same gameplay, took a few things out, added a few things, and slowed cqc slightly, which overall felt much better I think In fact when I first saw concrete gameplay elements from Sparkkng Zero, I was a bit disappointed to see they really stuck to the Tenkaichi gameplay and didn’t take more from RB2 Can’t wait to be October 8th though
I mean offline yes online 💀 nope
Ive played through the db story in like 30 games not sure why people care to do it everytime, and if youre any good the computer is no challenge. This game had mechanics beyond its time though and you can play it ONLINE right now on an emulator
I think for me it's a combination of a few things: - Either seeing the same story but the animations done with completely new graphics (I never get sick of it) - Or seeing a completely new story with established characters (See FighterZ or Xenoverse) - Or a bunch of What-Ifs. Or all of them together! I can see why some people may get tired of it but for me it's always the 1st thing I look for in Dragon Ball games. It's actually cool that people are still playing online to this day, crazy good mechanics
Raging Blast 2 is my most played game to date I think the fighting system and mechanics are more advanced and fast paced than BT3 though I get a lot of hate for stating that I was playing BT3 to practice for SZ but now that I know you can fully customize the controls in SZ I swapped to RB2 for practice
Well, you won't get any hate from me for stating that opinion, 50% because I haven't a clue when it comes to fighting mechanics, but the other 50% is because everyone's entitled to their opinion on games if it's not hurting anyone! So you must be gearing up to whoop people on SZ then! Can't wait to see you on the battlefield and cry later!
@@PlayThroughTime. Agreed! And fingers crossed for crossplay after release!
From what I can assume from the video, you got the version with the bad music I was lucky to get the original OST and MAN it's completely unforgettable Really sets up the mood One of my favorites is Nose To Tail, that many people don't know it's actually unlockable I also gotta love how all my trophies were in Japanese somehow lol
Yeah, I must've gotten unlucky there! I'm going to have a listen to the original OST today while I write up my thoughts on the next game I played. I'll make sure to listen out for Nose To Tail Someone more educated then me should jump in, but does that mean the version with the original OST was a different game on PSN with different trophies? Or was it just broken and showed up in Japanese haha
@@PlayThroughTime. I'm not quite sure, but I did have the European version of the game, so that could probably affect both the music and trophy system? Maybe it was a problem with the default language of the system for the trophies, but no clue about the music I think the games are the same however I also remember not being able to connect to my online account But I still had updates on my games, so I doubt that would fix it
Man, you can't say these OSTs aren't good. At most, you could say that they don't fit with RB2, also because they were originally created for BT2. Personally, I find them all amazing, one more beautiful than the other, and it's no coincidence that these were the most appreciated OSTs among all three Tenkaichi games produced.
Raging Blast 2 is my favourite dragon ball game of all time, the gameplay is perfect in my opinion
Combo system is fire. If they added the chase combo mechanic as an option to sparking zero that would be amazinh
fun fact on release the music was made by Kenji Yamamoto, a very known DBZ music artist who made alot of music for other DBZ games but after he was cougt for plagiarism, they had to re release raging blast 2 where they removed Kenjis music and replaced it with the music from budokai tenkaichi 3, there is no way to know if you have the re-release or day one release before hand without haveing to start the game and watch the intro
Thanks so much for the additional information and what a wild story, I try to go in without doing much research so my opinion isn't biased but this seems to be a massive one I missed haha. It's mad to think when this game released there were groups of people who had no clue what they were missing out on with the OST and only found out years later.
@@PlayThroughTime. I'd recommend doing research for future projects to make sure it's as well-informed as possible. Other than that, looks like you're doing pretty damn well despite you sub count.
@@LloydTheZephyrian It's still early days for me so I'm finding my feet still but appreciate the feedback!
Budokai Tenkaichi 2 not 3
I think only the launch batch had the OG ost. Most copies of RB2 out there are the tenkaichi 2 ost.
Its really disappointing that they didn't include a story mode even yho there was one in the first Raging Blast, it also has great What Ifs like Bardock meeting and fighting his grandsons
It's the first thing I go to in any of these games as I love seeing how the newest game will animate iconic moments plus the what-ifs! So it's definitely a shame to not see it here but ah well, fun game nonetheless.
The one hit mission were my favorite and I hope they come back it makes a skill gap and once you complete it you actually are a god at the game 😂
Shows that I was nowhere near that god-level! Maybe one day I'll put in the time and effort just to beat those one hit missions fairly
the themes from the show will never be brought back. That's not a missed opportunity, its simply not legally possible as they were licensed only for the tv release version, and only for the non japanese ones. Not even dvd releases past a certain point have the songs you were referring to. As a consolation though the later dbz games would attempt to emulate the same tunes and arrangement from the tv adaptation so they end up sounding like they were from the show now.
That makes a lot of sense and shows my lack of knowledge when it comes to licensing! Yeah, I swear every Dragon Ball game I've played has had a banger of a soundtrack, except for this one... but I'm now finding out that the original OST wasn't on the version I got from ebay so maybe I'm judging it too harshly!
@@PlayThroughTime. to add on to that. the original budokai games had music that was almost entirely plagiarized by its composer. He was fired once it came out and the re rereleased versions of the budokai games all were recomposed as a result. If you buy them in their current form they wont have the banger soundtrack we all remember either
When you mentioned you hadn't even reached at least 1k subscribers I was really surprised. The editing and writing of this video is really good! Def subbed
That means a lot, thank you so much! I know Shenron will come through for me eventually
I had a 360 sot this was my BT3. Even after going back and playing BT3 later i still enjoy raging blast more
Raging Blast games are more balanced than BT3.
Good video. I played this game all the time as a kid. Lots of fun to be had even for a casual. The skill ceiling is crazy high and some people online were untouchable. Excited for sparking 0 tho.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I was definitely nowhere near the skill ceiling, I'm absolutely awful at fighting games but it's still so impressive how the ceiling is so high yet I was still able to play well and have fun. Hopefully Sparking Zero keeps that energy and I'm not horrifically bad at it haha.
The soul reason this game didn't sell is because it didn't include gt characters I remember as a kid I was like bruh I'm not buying that game when I still got bt3 that has more fighters. I got it later on when it was on sale and I liked it but still missed the gy characters
Ah, that's interesting. I don't know why but I never saw GT on tele when I was young but definitely saw nearly all of Z. It makes sense that people growing up with GT would miss characters like the Super Saiyan 4s and the shadow dragons. Thanks for the insight!
The GT characters would have looked so clean in this game especially with the chaining combo mechanic. Could have been some sauce with SSJ4.
I am playing Raging Blast 2 right now to kill time waiting for Sparking Zero XD
Great choice mate! Can't wait for Sparking Zero!
Same hahaha
Raging Blast is like Budokai Tenkaichi ??
Same
Yes
Raging Blast fixing to be the red headed step child once sparking zero releases lmao
The original soundtrack for this game was removed shortly after release, the soundtrack in this video was quickly made to replace it was terrible. The original OST was 100x better in every way.
Mate... This makes so much sense, thanks for sharing. For me, during the very intense moment between Bardock and Frieza there was beach party music... I gotta find the original OST now
wasnt the original ost straight up stolen from another game?
@@undeadcleric7878 Nah, the guy that made it was caught for plagerism in the original DBZ Kai soundtrack, so they removed all his content from all dragon ball content
On the topic of the anime music being used, the Japanese version of the game also has it's own OST with revised Japanese DB/DBZ anime music, it was the same for the Tenkaichi(Sparking in Japan) games. They probably don't release that music over here due to copyright issues.
Also the music is always composed by Japanese composers I believe so they would have no idea of the US Bruce Faulconer OST or any reason to use it. The only times I know US music was used was for Budokai 1's US intro where it plays Rock the Dragon in a loop twice instead of Cha La Head Cha la for the opening & "Webfoot Technologies" Dragon Ball GameBoy Advance Games where because they were a US developer they used some of the US soundtrack for the OST's in Legacy of Goku I & II, Buu's fury & GT: Transformation.
I had a lot of fun playing this 💪🏼 This was Tenkaichi 4 for me

@@PlayThroughTime. I like her design and the fact that she's a female character, lol. Also, judging by her design, I bet she has a type of fighting style that I like (I didn't really watch Dragon Ball)
@@BumbleBee-ur4uo As far as I remember (It's been a while since I've seen Super).
