A somewhat surprising instance of the ACLS system in the Tomcat guiding me in from a whopping 8 miles out from the carrier… keep in mind, this is (I suspect) a DCS situation and I did a lot wrong here procedurally- I was simply practicing getting the ACLS working :)

Great video. Were the real tomcats using acls in those conditions or would they sometimes land manually with the ICLS ?
From what I’ve seen, they’d do both, but for a while their system was malfunctioning as it was installed improperly from factory so they’d fly ILS in the soup, no auto landings. After they got the system fixed, however, they’d do more auto landings. (This is all anecdotal from someone who flew the plane, and are not my words- I can link that video here though so you can see what I’m referring to)

@@S1LVERflyin That is so interesting and thanks for the video. ACL is something I’m gonna have to try out. I’ve only been doing ICLS landings so far, where the boat was actually visual the last 3 miles before touchdown. I can imagine, it’s a complete different story doing it manually in the soup, but something I wanna try.
@@McFreddie22 Manual in the soup is hard! Remember to take it slow, trust your aircraft, and be patient!
This is the most amazing carrier landing I've seen so far in DCS. I must learn how to do this with the Tomcat, which is my favorite plane in DCS.

where did you find the controls listed to get in the room?

For some reason when I go to alt f9, the interior is not visible, it just has the sound effects but no interior, what ship is this (I have the super carrier DLC)
Are you pressing RALT+F9? Alt f9 might be something totally different

It's a great start... more functionality on the way no doubt, with the other screens.
That’s the hope- I for one would love to see the hangar maybe get some love, it would be so cool to be able to walk around jets in there 😎
Now you can chill in there everyday for 6 months for the full realism experience

Looks like a great spectator location. Will there be and functionality to this station?
Eventually I think so, you’ll be able to drive the boat and perform Airboss duties if you want- but that’s what I’m saying, great spectator position
@@S1LVERflyin you can "drive the boat" now...the panel on your right up on the ceiling lets you control all speed and heading. You can also control all the lighting on the ship too.
I am extremely surprised the AAA didnt get ya, its usually pinpoint accurate haha. I'm more scared of AAA than SAMs these days 🤣 Also it was a little hard to hear you with the music so loud. otherwise, what an adventure!
I didn’t realize the music was so loud, but at the end of the day all I really said was “we’re being shot at” and “Nah we’re chillin” 🤣 I was surprised at the fact we didn’t die too, but honestly if you saw the outer view we were taking FIRE like it was so bad 😭 the F-4 is a TANK tho!
