This is one of those perks of being a gamedev that nobody ever seems to tell you about: You just get to make your own little time sinks for when you have nothing better to do and can completely tailor them to your own preferences. And while doing so, you still learn more about being a gamedev, making it a funny, little win-win situation.

@@user-og7tm4me2n are you rendering things at 1440, what is your use case? If you don’t think there is a difference switch between rendering at 1440, then 1080. Make sure to keep the aspect ratio the same. Switch it to 1080 in display settings. If you really can’t tell the difference, just render it all at 1080 to save you frames and workload. Pixels per square inch is at a perfect ratio at monitor size. It’s hard for me to tell the difference between 1440 and 4k at a glance but on a big tv 4k makes sense imo. I can see 1080 vs 1440 and 4k instantly though. For my use cases, crisper details in things like trees both for gaming, and creative work is essential. My brother’s pc has a 1080 screen and whenever I sit down and use it looks blurry and text isn’t nearly as clean. Also having real HDR with a wide color gambit is a huge deal too. 1080 works but it’s won’t be ideal for anything but smaller screens like the steam deck for example. I’ve seen laptops with really crisp 1080 though, think it was microdot or something. Pretty crisp and wcg. No hdr though :( Really it’s about having a bigger screen be able to display more detail, diminishing returns on smaller screens.
