This channel captures bicycle based adventures, big and small.
Cycling for me is a way to stay healthy both physically and mentally. It is a form of escapism as well a meditation. Cycling combined with healthy eating, some running and even some Pilates has transformed my life and my approach to health and well being.
I love making videos as a creative outlet, working on footage that reminds me of the fun I have had on my bicycle. I create the content for me. If you enjoy it too, great please let me know in the comments!

Switzerland the second day in the saddle!
Day two of my visit to lake Thun. This time taking me on a ride out into the Swiss countryside. The video is purely ride video, I was so taken aback by the riding I didn't add any commentary!

My first ride in Switzerland, what an experience!
มุมมอง 1649 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
During the summer of 2024, I was lucky to be able to take some time off work and visit Switzerland. I spent a little time at the start of the trip in Zurich but most of the nearly two weeks away were spent by a lake, Lake Thun just below Bern. I posted a blog about the ride here: puncheurchronicles.org/my-first-time-cycling-in-switzerland/ for the cafe in Interlaken: velo-cafe.ch/
Can you plan a random ride in a new place and have tons of fun?
มุมมอง 15314 วันที่ผ่านมา
I have a friend that lives a couple of hours drive away. He too is a keen cyclist and we decided to pick a place between us, Saffron Walden and start a ride from there. We met early, so we could stop for coffee and breakfast at Coffee Waffle a cafe that has excellent Coffee and food. From there we took a scenic route to Sudbury, taking in some wonderful country roads. We stopped for lunch at an...
Can you ride outside in Northern England in mid November?
มุมมอง 26628 วันที่ผ่านมา
It was my birthday weekend so I took to the roads of the Ribble Valley for a 60 km out and back to get coffee. I started in Clitheroe, rode to Settle for coffee at 3 Peaks and then rode back. On the return trip, the temperature dropped quickly and made for a chilly but enjoyable ride home. All in all a great ride in some beautiful countryside!
Can we get Gio home in time? A race against the clock!
มุมมอง 101หลายเดือนก่อน
Carl, Carl, Gio and Luis take to the flat roads of Essex. Gio has a time cut off. Luis has a secret plan to add on a loop of 6km... that might be 20 km... There is time for coffee. There was an intermediate sprint stage (Spoiler Alert! I did not get the green jersey!)
Can it really be this warm in November in the UK??
มุมมอง 280หลายเดือนก่อน
It's the first week of November and it's 12-14 degrees outside here in Essex. The forecast was for dry conditions so I planned a 76 km route and took to the lanes of Essex on my bike!
Did I really get to cycle in the sunshine in October in the U.K.??
มุมมอง 43หลายเดือนก่อน
It's mid to late October in the United Kingdom. I am staying on the coast in Devon close to Blackpool Sands. Although the main reason for being there is to relax and unwind, I did take by bicycle with me and when the sunshine came out, I decided to ride along the coast roads to soak in some oceans views. There was more traffic than I would have liked, which was surprising given it was mid Octob...
I started without a plan and ended up cycling 130km through the backroads of Essex!
มุมมอง 1792 หลายเดือนก่อน
Having not been out on the bike for close to two weeks, when Saturday came round and it was sunny outside, I decided to get my kit on, and just start riding! I didn't have a plan when I set off, I thought I would listen to my body, taking turns in the road that looked interesting. About 40km in I decided that I would head to Coffee Waffle in Saffron Waldon, as I was about 2/3 of the way there. ...
Can I survive 45 km without my bike computer?!?!?!?!
มุมมอง 433 หลายเดือนก่อน
With Alex and his family having moved 30 minutes south of Preston, we decided to organise a ride up north. Alex planned a great 45 km loop that took us from his house, round to the coast and then back to Cedar Farm for Coffee freshly roasted on site as well as some chocolate that is also made on site. Huge amounts of fun catching up with Alex in person again, and the route was a lovely flat 45 ...
Can you ride 3 counties in a day???
มุมมอง 513 หลายเดือนก่อน
A small group of friends tackle and epic 174km ride starting and finishing in Lincolnshire. The ride takes in 3 counties, two great coffee stops and too many great moments to list! Huge amounts of fun had.
A ride through Essex in July. Edwin & Carl's 140km ride for coffee and cake!

Two friends meet for a ride in Essex. The Goal, get to the coffee shop for coffee and cake, then turn around and come home. The coffee shop is just over 65km from the start/ finish! Huge amounts of fun. Though it was well into summer the weather was cool, but with pockets of blue sky. A great day out!
I rode from Cattolica to Tavullia, Valentino Rossi's home town!
มุมมอง 216 หลายเดือนก่อน
Having signed up for a cycle event starting in Cattolica, a mere 12km from Tavullia, I decided that I would cycle to Tavullia the day before the big event. I planned a direct route there, taking in the main road into the town. While there I stopped to visit the official VR 46 store, as well as watch the MotoGP qualifying in the cafe in the main street. I had huge amounts of fun and tried to cap...
A ride in Essex on May Bank Holiday 2024 and the best coffee hack for cyclists that love coffee!
มุมมอง 266 หลายเดือนก่อน
During the first May bank holiday weekend 2024, the weather was sunny. I decided to take to the bike and enjoy cycling the local roads. This video covers two separate rides, each with it's own coffee stop!
Bowland Big Day Out April 2024: 165km 3338m elevation. Huge amounts of fun.
มุมมอง 427 หลายเดือนก่อน
On a sunny day in April 2024, five friends came together to ride the very first Bowland Big Day Out. The adventure involved riding 165km around the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales, an undulating landscape that varies in both scenery and conditions quickly. The total elevation for the ride ended up being 3338m (not the 2400 that Komoot plan suggested!) which made for a long and challen...

มุมมอง 359 หลายเดือนก่อน
In late April 2024 a small group of friends will go on an epic adventure. The adventure has become known as The Bowland Big Day Out and the route takes in some of the finest roads in the Forest of Bowland. No tour of the Forest of Bowland would be complete without climbing over the Cross of Greet. This short video was prepared as a taster for those taking part!

I like your easy going commentary style well done

Nice video 👍
Thanks! I am really glad you liked it!
Mudguards are good for winter riding
That’s very true. I’ve never fitted mud guards myself, except maybe one of the under seat things. I know a lot of clubs insist on mud gaurds during winter too.
Never discuss the weather 😂😂
At least not until you get to the safety and warmth of home!
I know that starting point 😂😂. Not far from me (Gidea Park)
So you know the route! you're a cyclist?
@@PuncheurChroniclesyea I usually start off in Gidea Park, ride past Harold wood, Harold Hill/Noak Hill then up towards Ongar etc. I used to live in Harold Wood so as soon as I see the first clip of the video I knew straight away! Great video and ride mate! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
wow. i was in Riccione/Cattolica last year with my cycling group from Toronto at a cycling hotel. Been there 5 times and love the area with great climbs and return downhills., We will be in Mallorca next September 2025. Second time.
Thanks Carl. I enjoyed the ride. I grew up in Romford and as a teenager would ride my bike having fun in the 50s early 60s. We immigrated to Canada in 1964 and I stayed as a cyclist, pure roadie, riding 80 km at aged 80. Today was 22C, partly sunny and low wind, here in the rural area outside of Toronto. I take the commuter train out and ride home to the city. No extreme cold or snow here during the winter but I drive and stay in Florida for Jan & Feb to do more summer cycling.
80km at 80 is impressive! Well done.
The climb out of Buttermere offtt!
The lakes have a lot of great climbs! Hardnott was the most fierce!
Must have been the southern climate? It was Baltic in Yorkshire.
I split my riding time between Essex and Lancashire / Yorkshire and it is generally warmer in Essex. Essex doesn't have the fells though!! So it's worth having the cooler climate :)
Loving that jersey 👌
Thanks! Q36.5 make some really cool kit! I've started buying their kit this year and its super comfy and so many different styles.
Very Nice
Wow amazing
We've been lucky with the weather this winter 👌
Way to go. Impressive!
