Actually I had this same problem, What I did to fix this problem is uninstalled the already installed fingerprint driver and downloaded the fingerprint driver in dell support website and installed it then restarted my computer now its works fine

its broken wires underneath the carriage that are loose. fix immediately.

I just replaced mine because the original disintegrated, yet it doesn't open the trunk. You have to use the fob, key or inside latch release button. I can"t find any loose,cut or frayed wires. Does anyone know if their is a fuse associated with it, or where it actually goes to?

Tip for getting the door lock off... use the key in the fob and just turn it then withdraw lock
