@OneFlyingLap my bad on the details in the description missing however it was nearly 3 years ago I posted it so forgive me , yes the footage was obviously passed to the authorities, he couldn't stay because his vehicle was blocking the road and couldn't have helped in any way due to so many already assisting. Always weird how people try to criticise rather ask if the footage was donated. This footage was the main evidence from what I gather. Oh and I haven't like my own comment so please stop looking to belittle me because that's just sad

Anyway the footage shows the whole thing so fantastic for the postmans defence and showing he did no wrong, but what a rubbish outcome and prosecution considering the severity. Drive safe

By crossing the road the cyclist ignored a red light, so no the BMW driver isn’t 100% to blame at all. The cyclist will have had no idea wither the lights the BMW came through were on red or not. Or do you think the rules should only apply to drivers of motor vehicles?

It’s no different with cyclists. They think the rules don’t apply to them. If the cyclist hadn’t tried to cross the road on a red signal he wouldn’t have been hit by the car.

The cyclist does go when the traffic light is on green for the bmw, yes the bmw went through a red light previously to the lights that the accident occurred, but was green for the next.

You’re the bell end for defending the cyclist who crossed the road on a red light. The fact that the clown in the BMW ran the previous red light is irrelevant. At the scene of the incident he had a green signal.

The BMW was speeding. The BMW jumped the lights. The BMW hit the cyclist. What video were you watching ???

@@OutrageDuck69 The speeding if he was speeding is not the cause of the cyclist being knocked off. He would have knocked him off at 30 mph if the cyclist would have crossed a crossing he should not have.

Well you should apply for a role as a road safety operator, get these dangerous cyclists off our roads because they cross the road so dangerously . Ignore the fact the bmw car speeding ( yes it was proven, camera vehicle was hgv using tachograph which records speed and it can also be calculated from fixed points on the video) and running red lights , ( Amber also means stop incase you weren't aware ) that's why the bmw driver was delt with heavily in court. @@DannyDashcam What did he get then ?. Or are you just prattling. I have a PCV so I know what a tachograph does, it will not record the speed of the BMW. This technique is called camera matching and reverse projection to calculate speed, it is not an exact science. Amber usually means stop, unless it's unsafe to do so. If you're too close to the line at the time the light turns amber, you may be committed, and braking sharply could lead to an accident. Technically it's legal to go through an amber light, but ideally you shouldn't do this unless you have to. You are totally full of it. Social media tripe at its sad peak.

It's possible it was a Toucan crossing which cyclists can use, hard to tell from the video. The pavement on the opposite side is shared pedestrian and cyclist, so I'd imagine that is the case.

Many crossings in the UK are "Toucan crossings", meaning people can cycle across them. I don't know why that's relevant here though considering he's the victim of this crash.....

​@@bikeman123 No. The BMW went through an amber light at speed just when it was turning red, there's no way the crossing light would turn green that quickly, they have a safety margin built in the timing. He saw that the red car had stopped and wrongly assumed it was safe to cross.

@@michaelcorder8561 Jesus. Even if you are colour blind you can see the illuminated crossing signal is the bottom light which is green. You then see the light move up and change to amber, then of course it would be red.

What's straight forwards is the camera vehicles tachograph which records the speed, it was doing the limit and the cars speed was calculated from various fixed points on the video and the time taken to travel them. He was speeding end of story , he also got the book.thrown at him . That's what's pretty straight forward
