Adding in. The Boy Scouts could have had 4 merit badges combined into the radio merit badge for the radio fox hunting portion of it. Radio Merit Badge for the antennas, the directional operation theory, and radio operation and programing for the handi-talkies . The electronics merit badge for some of the transmitter/receiver building. The electricity badge for the dc power supplies . The Orienteering Badge for map reading and compass bearing for ARDF style fox hunts. And signaling for morse code for the fox numbers and identifications. Most wanted a One Day seminar on Short wave radio and a quick overview of Amateur Radio. And if they for some reason had taken the QRZ tests and gotten above 80% if there was a VE team involved they got to take the Amateur Radio License Technician Test. The QEX and the other list items you displayed just went over the heads of MOST of the youth that you are wanting to get involved. The reason the ARISS is popular is that they don't have to think about how it works, they just use it to talk to the astronauts. If they had to explain how the radio signals got there before they could use the mic there wouldn't be a lot of conversations.

I hope the QSO Party comes off much better than this video did.

What I didn't care for was people jumping up and down in front of the camera. Makes for a poor video.
