I’ve been asking for writing advice lately from the divine so I’ll take this video as a sign ! ❤

I no longer do tarot, but my mom gave me a deck when I was 16. My plotting method is to listen to music and play it out like a music video in my head. Characters have their favorite musical artists. When I sit down to write, the plot can change drastically depending on which MC I use. Another way I plot is the easy chapter method. I am 80 discovery writer, 20% plotter. I also do plotting for my next day's writing if I am writing a novel, but I am doing less of those. Another fun method is to rewrite a story in a different genre or world.

I'm also a tarot reader, and whenever someone new wants a quick reading, I like to do a three card spread: stop, start, continue. One thing for the person to stop doing to improve their well-being, one thing to start doing, and one thing to continue doing. I like to call it a blunt truth reading, because it typically calls out some real core issues. There was one time I did this reading for a dude who brought his buddy to watch. I had never met them before, both strangers to me. I don't remember exactly the cards I pulled, but the "stop" card had something to do with his ego getting in the way of his success or something. I remember when I was explaining that card, his buddy was laughing and teasing him, saying stuff like "ohhhh called OUT, see man I told you" 😂 so yeah I enjoy that reading. It's pretty quick, but you can make it longer if you want! Hope this helps :)

That's actually a good surface scratch with *loads* of good information. The Lovespell Murders is a piece of speculative literary fiction and a composite of many different genres (spaghetti on the wall) but at the very core it's a story about going deep into the MMC's psyche and discovering what lays at the foundation of his trauma. I felt like I was constructing a dream at times, which may be why it's so frivolous in its use of genre - I had to use pieces of reality (ancient Greek mythology, noir crime, romance) to create a collage so that this story could be told. It's also about death and grief so it's unsettling at the best times. (Lovespell, in itself, is a shadow work - and not safe). I wonder then if I need to be shaping his story as I promote it (it's almost done, comes out Jan. 27th) like walking into somebody's PTSD dreamscape, or talk about how it's about the awakening of the imagination in reality, or something else that will make people feel safer walking into the story and give it a better introduction rather than just calling it a murder mystery. The card pull was epic, thank you so much. You really are a provocative purveyor of the mystical arts.

I'm sure you'll be fine. I have a feeling you're going to survive 2025, just like I will. I'm having a great time so far because I did a sweeping ritual to sweep out all of the negative energy I had since I first moved back to Chicago in 2022. And New Years is around the corner tomorrow. In my opinion the Hero goes on a Quest, a traveler goes on a Journey. Yes what I believe is 1) Find your Hero’s Quest - this is the power behind your story, which then 2) Ask then how - not what - does your Hero travel this Journey - acted out here in space time - the plot. The Hero’s quest is a story through the quantum, invaluable on the written screen if not coupled and grounded with plot. But plot without good story we all know doesn’t win awards, so in my opinion what you were missing was a minor confusion on the proper definitions of the words you are using. Though as writers we make our first oath to the Word, so I suggest tuning into being more dedicated to using words correctly, then we work on using them sufficiently. Good Luck!

I think that you and your liberal friends should stay safely tucked away in your safe spaces and allow the real men to take care of the business of making sure that you are safe and warm. Another looser democratic idiot

This was something I needed because I couldn't figure out which section to work with the most. Thank you Chris. I just started on one of my seven projects even though I know I should work on just one. It's a long story, but it's got something to with a gut feeling I had years ago.

I stopped writing to get married and take care of my kids. I was also really stressed with some things I couldn't control on my publisher's end. I never stopped plotting, but writing was another thing. I found rewriting old books helped me.

I have written novels and novellas, but I feel at my heart I am a short story writer. And I love fantasy, paranormal, and sci-fi stories. I am not a big series reader unless it's a cozy mystery because they are shorter than fantasy novels. I also like microfiction.

Correction, on my part: Most of us who accused the rich of being evil are often due to how certain rich individuals have treated us who weren't rich. That's not to say every rich individual is evil, it's just based on experiences. However, even those on our level and class on how we lived our lives are bound to treat us as if we're not worthy to be by their side as friends no matter the connection. Some people have no love for themselves or others. In some cases, there are rich people who do help others and those who would rather put everyone else down for our differences in the world. If it was possible, everyone including myself would've gotten a lot more money than what we normally get and no one would have to live in poverty. However, it's usually up to politicians we vote for or do not vote for. That being said, most people say the phrase 'eat the rich' because we're in pain, because there are those who have the money to give to those who are down on their luck. But money and fame seem to be the goal for anyone who gets a chance, especially if you don't have the right people or connections to get you to where you want to go. That being said, thank you for bringing that up.

What you said in this video made me reflect on how I felt towards writing horror and now I'm not sure if I want to write it, because I just remembered paranormal romance and it didn't dawn on me until I realized an error in my journey about writing a paranormal love story. Thank you Chris.

I've been thinking about writing a webzine or web novel altaverse series based on being inspired by many video games about fighting against war criminals who call themselves the Genocidal Saints, a fictional group of global and domestic terrorists who want world dominance. Yeah, it seems like every generic war criminal, but there's a very twist which I won't say anything about, because I plan to reveal it later on next year after I start my web novel series on a separate Jimdo website during this year. I know I'm only human, but I would rather just forgive myself and my family without caring what the world wants someone like me to see. And this film Genocidal Organ which I still have as a physical and digital copy of the same Genocidal Organ novels that helped me escape my broken lifestyle, because I want to change my life around. But I've become too afraid to go outside and travel around Chicago before night arrives. I plan to use my tarot cards to help me deal with my present life, the past I want to forgive and the future I yearn for regarding my private and personal lives and writing career. Hey there! That was very educational. Thank you so much for bringing up the part about being grounded to earth, because I kept going down the path of escapism, not willing to write because I was too afraid to try due to fear of failure. I do have journals that I bought months ago, but I haven't touched all of them yet. My problem is, I found myself chasing after someone for years while I tried to write a book, but I was more obsessed with someone I liked until he got married. I was blind by my obsession with someone that I ended up ignoring all the advice and warnings my family gave me. In 2013, my life became a living well and I was never the same ever again. I became more broken emotionally and mentally and I still haven't fully recovered from my past mistakes because I spent my entire 30s chasing after someone who didn't feel the same way about me. I robbed myself of following my dreams for a guy who wouldn't take me seriously, even though there were some things I wasn't responsible for in the first place. The saddest part is that it took the man I had feelings for siding with Trump that I had to let him go, besides him already married to someone else who's way luckier than me. Like I said before, I still haven't fully recovered from my past mistakes and the choices I made which would have resulted in me going back to a mental ward or going to jail. It didn't help that I was being accused of an incident that wasn't really my fault as I was trying to help my mom. But I guess my brother carried a grudge against me for years, same thing with my sister. And I'm usually the black sheep in my family. But thank you so much for bringing up so many things, because I believe you're the only fortune teller who gave me the strength I needed to move on from my past. Luckily, I took this moment to check out your video on fantasy and sci-fi and I haven't been the same since.
