    All new trucks are real garbage, the newer the truck is the bigger garbage is, drove 2025 cascadia and hopefully never again, I’ll stick to what works and makes money and it’s Columbia glider 12.7L 13 speed manual.

    Very good and helpful review,Rainman!I just test drove 2022 579 with MX13 and auto tranny and the fist thing I didn't like was that transmission. I've been driving manual for 28 years and this thing has a mind on it's own!😁Bobtail going uphill I just stepped on it and nothing happened and let's say I would wanted to pass I guess have to put in manual mode,other than that it won't go when I needed to.Also the oil pressure is weird, same reading(around 30psi) at idle and at 1500 rpm,but that's probably normal for this new engine.Still I find it strange. 🙂

    Damn. I was looking at these aero cab trucks. But …. Never mind….! Thanks. And damn bro sorry to hear your new truck is a piece of I like it. But I had few new truck f150 and they all had granny going into neutral and staying there, leaking windows, sensors going out all within 1k miles. For the money we are spending on these very we need to work. They are all pieces of shit. It’s sad. I ended up sticking to my 7.3 diesel ford that’s needs works. Has every fluid leaking. But I was wondering if the new semi truck are just as shitty. The design are great. But I guess it all depends on the ppl assembling it. They had bad days it not. It’s just pretty disappointing we go way out in a limb to buy these trucks. And they don’t work

    For the squeaky stacks, get a 589 or do what the 589 does: use flex pipe to connect the exhaust stacks. It might be "wore in" but I'd guarantee your ride will be much quieter if you do this - they still make noise.

  • @Unduplicatable
    @Unduplicatable 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I thought I watched this review before, hence my previous older comment. But I've had these things in my mind since driving the truck for long enough now. You're so right on so many of these problems. Yet, if you go to the Kenworths and Freightliners, the issues aren't always any different.

  • @Unduplicatable
    @Unduplicatable 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    😂 I've had the same issues. I don't understand why the truck resets information. This has to be the biggest issue - something so simple that they couldn't have possibly messed it up... and still managed to mess it up.... Also, no, you can't delete markers if you accidentally create them. You can only reset all your trips. Hold down the Marker button and it resets to 0 on A. The scroll wheel is terrible - I'm always hitting it. But one thing that drives me insane: if you accidentally turn on cruise control when turning the wheel, you might be STUCK at a certain speed. You are stuck going say 5mph and can't accelerate faster, so you're likely to get into a massive collision if someone hits you since your only option is to tap the brake or disable cruise before you can accelerate again. Even the RainX blades still become worthless at the tips and the only way to keep the wiper touching throughout is to keep your windshield extra clean and covered with RainX. I agree: there are too many issues with the new truck designs. It's literally as though they don't even test the trucks they drive.

    There's no such thing as a Peterbilt 579 "NextGen". That term is a registered trademark for the Kenworth T680 - and since Paccar owns both of those brands of truck's, there wouldn't be a 'shared model name' - they're independent - and don't duplicate term's between the two. Check website/brochure's, Peterbilt simply refers to the truck as 'model 579'. period', there's no "NextGen" mentioned

    The truck industry is so evil and greedy. Even the manufacturers cut corners to save a buck. They charge hundreds of thousands of dollars for these cheap plastic throwaway trucks that they intentionally make poorly so that you are on the hook for repairs. They will never get these trucks certified clean to run anymore than 100,000 miles before major repairs need to be done. I had a brand new 2014 cascadia with 150,000 miles. All kinds of sensor issues and had to get towed numerous times. Why anyone stays in this industry is truly beyond me. I feel bad for those who feel like they’re stuck because it’s all they know to do. There is just no money to be made anymore. And now, almost 10 years after I left the industry, it seems the trucks have gotten worse. It’s criminal at best. Evil is what I think.

    I really hope the engineering dept for Paccar is listening to this gentleman, he has genuine concerns about this new trucks, things that should not be happening, especially when you spend so much money on these new trucks. Better off buying those that are 2010 or older, they stay on the road, and not cost you loss of revenue.

  • @chuckwillis5567
    @chuckwillis5567 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I feel your pain, we in the heavy haul world can't afford to have most of the new versions, because they spend more time being down or in the shop, and when you have a 100K load on the deck, you need a tractor that you know can get the job done. These engineers are now spending more time trying to make the trucks like you're driving an automobile, and not a professional machine built to do heavy duty work. Sensors constantly going out, parts not readily available, having to call customer and say you're going to be late, or having to hire another truck to take your load and deliver. And when it comes the the controls in the steering wheel, both KW & PETERBILT, made a major mistake on putting those controls in the steering wheels, those buttons are in the way when you're turning the wheel, you accidentally turn on the cruise control, resetting the dash settings, just shows, that engineers never talked to professional drivers with excess of 15/20 years experience on how the interior of the cab should be set up. Pete use to be the top of the line, now I consider some of their models as the same as a freight shaker or Volvo. Shame on Paccar going away from what has been working for them for so many years. Mayve someone should tell them, IF ITS NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT.

    This is why I never buy American vehicles.Sorry not sorry but americans are lazy and do evrything half ass. Not exactly the type of people I want building a vehicle I put my life in care of. I wish Toyota would build a semi truck. It would be the most reliable truck on the road by far. Nothing would even come close.They would make a killing. Im currently looking to lease and I was thinking of getting a peterbuilt because I heard the drive was great and my back cant take much more freightshakers. Now idk. If I dont take a pete im stuck with a freightliner or an International. Not much better choices. I wish they had volvos.....ugh.

    That what happens when you have electronic dash like why?! My Pete 2016 my heat ac stops working and I gotta do reset I love 579 ride comfort turning but im in mechanic way too often. Cummings is a charm tho so is manual transmission. Peterbilt really pissed off so many costumers as much as I hate freightliner ride seats they don't break down as much. If I go owner op I prob get mack or Volvo prob Volvo. I cant stand that noise I be so pissed if I paid big money for that truck.

    Got a 2023 myself. Bought it 4 months ago. Here are my issues: Same dash issues: forgets the favs and clock has gone completely nuts. I cross over 3 time zones and my clock is way off, like 5 hours off I dont get it. I also found that at the manufacturing plant they either forgot to torque some screws or just lightly hand screw some of them because I already had to tighten the hinge screws that help hold the driver door open. I also had to replace (cuz they literally fell off) and tighten screws for the latches in the side steps. The steps literally wobble as I step down because the whole latch was barely hanging on. The side doors that lead to storage need to literally be slammed shut to actually shut them otherwise they would open while driving. When at low rpms while climbing the plastic under the steering wheel rattles and shakes. Coolant hoses were not tightened and I had to chase 3 leaks and tighten the clamps. What I have not done is buy the extended package with all the extra sensors. Other than that I don't have any other issues like what you have. Peace.
