Technically there would be no such thing as a cantilever in suspension as a cantilever is any horizontal object which is only supported on one end .....and suspension needs to be connected at both ends.... As far as the term cantilever suspension goes, it is any of the components which are fixed horizontally at one end with the other connected to the moving part of the axle linkage....there are many examples,especially in off-road racing where the suspension is vertical or angled and the linkage is horizontally mounted....it all depends on the application. In rc typically the suspension component is the portion which is horizontal to suit Ute's and pick up trucks etc. I'm NOT interested in debating it...you can take that to the forums and knock yourself out... If this helps, GREAT...IF NOT....keep looking elsewhere. Thanks😊

yeah my old Bronco had the wide track hexs, but I removed them, the car wouldnt self-rite. And the wheels would catch, but it did make side hilling easy...every thing is a compromise.

@trx4play784 that is very true. my rig has issues like you mention+ torque twist, rear tracking and deiveshaft seperation under extreme independent rear axle lift. I use this as a dedicated rock climber so those issues aren't really a concern. Build and set up your rig how you intend to use it right. That 8 1/2 inches of reach is worth it!❤️

I haven't had any issue so far with that...so what happened to yours and when did it happen?

Pretty sure it's called gravity and friction. When the tires spin, they are gripping on the bottom of the tire which is trying to push forwards, not upwards. But in the event where it's trying to climb, it is pressed up and the lever bottoms out, causing the sprint to compress and increasing the force applied to the tires.

It drives incredibly well. The only issue I have really found so far is in really rough terrain where there are lots of holes, sometimes the wheels will 'drop' into these holes where without cantilever they would have been suspended and not got caught up. But once they make contact with something they will usually drive themselves out... So I personally see the positives far outweighing any negatives.... Give it a try, it's easy and cheap and requires no permanent modifications, and looks absolutely AWESOME...😊 Besides, if your not happy, it only takes 10min to change it back!🤔

I will post my modified file for the TRX6 on Thingyverse shortly. I will then post a notification on here. It needs to be strong as there's alot more weight and force on those rear wheels when driving in challenging terrain.

The modification has been mostly positive, very few instances where it has been a hindrance. I have also done to my best modified TRX4 Brutus, and again it has been mostly positive. Occasionally depending on type of terrain the wheel may drop into a hole and get caught up, buy usually it just drives itself out up and over, sometimes it may get funny angles but again rarely does this pose a problem.

​@@rcuintheshed6981 every couple of weeks, it has this peaceful auro about it...great in summer as it's mostly shady and cool... might be abit too cool in winter and may opt for some nice sunny spots like down the beach...

Definitely worth re-visiting, we lived on a boat for nearly 10 years, and every year we came south to avoid the cyclone season, so we would go there for a week at a time...never got sick of it!😁 And I do now miss it!😏

I was totally surprised myself with the abundance of marine life considering the number of visitors over the holiday season. Absolutely loved it! Well worth the effort especially if a trip to the outer barrier reef is not an option!

Not really, occasionally despite by best attempts, it lands in lumpy sand and some sand gets in, if it's dry I just shake it out, give the motor a couple of turns by hand, blow out any caught up in the folding props and she good to go. If wet, I rinse it off with fresh water. Surprisingly durable. But nothing beats a hand catch, itmjust looks so cool when done well!😁

Hi, glad the video helped, I use the zippy 1300mah battery. The 2200mah Turnigy batteries I have seem to be a little too heavy. Perhaps once I add the tail camera to it that would be fine. Enjoy yours!
