You don't say
But, I did say though...
Thanks
You're welcome!
But what if the back wheel is out of alignment 😂
Then you have other problems.
you nailed it man! hahaha! i'm a 40+ year old dad still playing COD now!
I pretty much just play zombies now. Lol
I was going to try some gasket maker
That might work
I had a tow out situation that tore up my front tires. After rotating the tires and watching some alignment videos, I chose this method. So far, it seems to work great. Wish I would have done it before I tore up my tires.
I've torn up my fair share of tires too over the years. Lol
And it still has camber, as well as toe issues. Didnt catch the toe until you showed the right side again.
It is lowered so there is going to be some camber still. As far as the toe goes, it's the body lines. Guy that did an alignment on it thought the samething. Rear toe was well within spec though.
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff am I wrong camber can still be adjusted even though lowered?
You're not wrong. With the factory camber adjustments there is a limit to how much you can adjust. If you buy like aftermarket adjustable control arms, adjustable ball joints or pillow top mounts for the struts though, you can adjust your camber pretty much wherever you want regardless of how low it is. In my case, it's lowered like 1.5" or something like that and I don't have anything else to adjust camber with other than the factory eccentric bolts. So I am limited on how far it can go.
@MidwestAmericanDadStuff right on. I'm new to suspension. Literally just bought a durango hellcat that had lowering springs on it, with major camber issues. Trying to learn all I can before jumping into the aftermarket rear control arms and front camber plates.
Okay what if the back tire was out of alignment then how are you going to do the front
This is for if you have recently done front suspension work and can't make it in for an actual alignment for a bit. This can help you make it so your alignment is close enough to still be able to drive your vehicle. If your rear alignment is off, this isn't for you.
DEPENDS UPON THE TRACK DIMENSION. Only works if front and back track are exactly the same.
Still gives you an idea as to how off it is.
Thanks alot for this advice. Your knowledge and experience is very much appreciated. Keep informing the people...
No problem, glad to help.
lmao it sounds like ur steering wheel isnt straight this is not good advice
Advice? You mean how to check how off your tie rods can be before taking it down the road and trying to drive your vehicle? Go ahead and end up in a ditch then my guy. Lol
Was it making a clunking noise when accelerating?
Mine had a harsh vibration under acceleration. All good since doing this!
I noticed alot of damaged fins. On all the units. Wonder if hail causes that. 😊
Not sure. It was my brother's unit so could have been anything 😂
You should turn it off before cleaning it
Ideally, yes. Turn it off, clean it from the inside out. This was just a quick spray down because it was CAKED in cottonwood.
Eagles had the coolest interiors out of any car I've ever been in. All about the driver.
I agree. I've had this one for going on 10 years now. Such a fun car to drive too! Not bad for being "stock". 😉
My steering wheel is crooked now but then again on of my tires was bald from the inside is that the casue or can anyone wxplain
If your tire is bald on the inside, that means that either the wheel is toe'd out slightly (front of the wheel pointing away from the body of vehicle) or there is too much negative camber ( top of the tire angles into the body) from worn ball joints or worn out struts.
Why did i do mine and the steering wheel turned
What do you mean? When you tried to adjust your tie rods to align it?
What if rear toe is out?
Should be able to adjust if you can tell it's out. This is just a way to be able to make it driveable until you can get in for an actual alignment.
I’ve done this more than once after replacing suspension parts. It works great.
Game changer if you have to wait a week or more to get in for an alignment.
Because of your excellent video, I did exactly the same thing with silicone today with a carrier bearing on my 2000 dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Dually with 225,000 miles. It worked perfectly and should be good for another year or so even though I bought a new bearing which I will carry with me with tools in case it fails but I think it’ll be OK for a long time.
Whoa! That's a big ol' truck too! This was supposed to be a temporary fix for the support bushing for me but it worked so well I actually forgot I did it. Lol glad it worked out for you and hopefully it lasts long enough until you are ready to put the new stuff in!
How do I fix that problem
Never got a chance to make a video on how to correct it due to health issues.
@@MidwestAmericanDadStuff May Almighty God heal and restore you. Amen
This is a good method💯
Thanks 💯
Huh? Just wrap the cord with tape along the crack and stick it down there, it’ll just look like the crack instead of making the crack appear 3x as wide with little tape ends sticking out too.
Then you would have a cord that is a trip hazard.
What was your dry time before driving it again
It sat for about 24 hours before I drove it again.
I see a DSM, I hit like.
Good eye! Lol got two of em. Other one is, well, in pieces in the garage.
Seems pretty inaccurate
More inaccurate than driving with the wheel held at a 45 degree angle on your way to work until you can get into a shop for an alignment? Read the description.
hello... is it fish???
No
They have wrench inserts for size downs
Interesting. I've never seen something like that.
Just came across this. What type of silicone was use?
Cant remember the exact type. But it was just like a bathroom silicone I got from a hardware store. Lol
You have to hammer those extractor sockets on to get enough purchase to break them loose. If the proper size doesn’t fit then go to the next smallest size and pound it on right
Bolt was so rounded, the 8mm extractor just slide right over it. 7mm was too small still. So I would have ended up having to do what I did anyway.
That is one of those bastardly small sizes. I have the $24 amartisan set from Amazon it’s about 13 pieces but I don’t think it goes smaller than 8mm. I would probably have tried some aggressive water pump pliers before this but this is a good option depending on the circumstances. With a bolt smaller than 10mm I don’t see corrosion getting it any tighter than 25 lbs/ft at which point it’s more likely you’ll snap the bolt than get it loose. I recently had some super rusted in rear caliper slide pins whoever did the brakes last put no slide pin lubricant on and I rounded them out. Had to take the whole bracket and caliper piston assembly off to hammer the bolt biters on with enough purchase so that they wouldn’t come off. then use a long pry bar with a ratchet and cheater to apply opposing force to break them. In that situation if I had chosen this approach I would have most likely rounded whatever shape I ground the bolt head into while trying to get them off. Definitely a good technique to have in your arsenal but the best arsenal is well rounded and the one doing the work must know which method is appropriate for any given circumstance.
blue wrench nut weld
The heck is that?
My dad's ranger is great. Until the breaks got worn down and he couldn't change them for a week.
That had to have been rough.
@@MidwestAmericanDadStuff it was fine. We just used my mom's Chrysler but I had to ride the bus the whole time.
Easy🤣 love it
Glad you found the humor sprinkled in there. Lol
Unbelievable.
Doing all that around other things that if they were to get damaged, would create a whole other headache. Lol
Your working to hard.
I'm open to suggestions. Lol
Weld a nut on there.
Couldn't without burning up a couple wire harnesses and setting a fuel line on fire. Lol
I grind 2 sides across from each other and put an opened end wrench on it
Was going to try that but had a feeling it would still slip off. Lol
Built Ford tough baby.
Tough everywhere except where it counts. Lol
Can't tell if this is parody or not with the subtitles, as someone with a rusty Ford I'll say these probably can work. I often still need a torch or inductor, or to cut a slot for a flathead, but I'm just talking out loud lol
Definitely satire. Lol Was a pain in the butt. It was in a tight space with a bunch of wire harnesses around so a torch was out. Thought about the slot trick but it was seized as can be with me being in Michigan and all. Lol
😂😂😂
Glad you found humor in it. Lol
Not everyone has bad foundation problems like you.
This is a walkway, not a foundation. Saw cuts in a concrete walkway are necessary for expansion and contraction during seasonal changes, since you were obviously not aware.
That circle ⭕️ in the middle of the spark plug gapper is used for opening so you don’t need plyers jfyi
Thanks!
So wierd I’m looking to align my 91 eclipse and I see this steering wheel lol
Looked pretty familiar huh? Lol
Brilliant!
Thanks!
This is a great trick to see how out of alignment a car is. It will be hard to see how much front verses rear is out but still a good first diagnostic test
Yup! Just a quick way to help you make it driveable after steering or suspension work until you can get into an alignment shop.
Superb trigger finger discipline!
Safety and responsibility have been taught since day one.
What's the reason for so much tape underneath?
Helps protect the cord from the abrasiveness of the concrete.
@@MidwestAmericanDadStuffIt seems like a bit overkill. I do like the three short strips going widthwise though. Laying the long strip on top would be difficult without them holding the cord still.
I was there with my families mini rods
Those things are awesome!
top notch camerawork
"Professional" lol
Bros so broke he’s can’t even afore a Nokia / i hope you like your roast
Well, I do have an android so that probably explains it. Lol
