Used to live there in housing and went high school at the Nurnberg American School, which was a Elementary to Highschool campus between 1978 to 1980. I was in ROTC. I am Kyu Tee (pronounced QT).

I lived in the housing and went to the px and commissary as a teenage between 1978 to 1980/81. I attended the Nurnberg American School when it was a elementary to high school campus and not just a high school. I was also in JROTC. My two sisters also attended with the younger one Stephanie who was in Elementary to Junior High, Crystal was Junior High to High school. I was strictly High school and took architectural drawing while there also.

Im Looking for WISO from ZDF when B Co. was on TV (German) for moving to I think Erlangen.I bought the Cd from ZDF and lost it.Showed My Platoon all in the Show. Anybody have that?

lived there on drudenweg from 82-84. shalikashvili (later joints chief of staff) was the general there, preceded by bradshaw. basketball court was brand new, and the center of it all was the two parks between drudenweg and haydenstrasse and haydenstrasse and bethovenstrasse

thanks for posting. lived here 1981-1984 as a dependent. gerhard hauptmann strasse 96. best time of my childhood. we kids cried when we got the news we were headed back stateside. just did a walk of the old housing. yes its been converted to german units but there are a few spots in 2023 where they have the old wooden climbing structures attached to metal slides. i remember climbing up slides like that, and sliding down. found some familiar graffiti on them from back in the day so pretty sure those are the originals. awesome. loved those days as a kid in fürth

I was born in Nurnberg in 76. Lived back and forth different military bases and areas from Germany and to the states until I was 15. I miss Germany so much.

1968-1972

Born and lived here from 1966-1976 - loved it so much that I returned to live her permanently. Although it has changed, many things have remained the same.

Nice to see some pictures from Fuerth. I was stationed there at Darby Kaserne 1989-1993, but lived off base in a flat on Lessingstrasse. Much of this has been torn down and converted into housing and parks. Glad I can still see it in your viideo.

I lived there as a child 1965 to 1967. The large house ( the only structure not a duplex) was the general’s house. Either that house or another large one nearby was reputed to be a brothel during WW2. It was more grass then. Far fewer trees. The floors were hardwood and had to be cleaned annually. Heat was by steam coming from a central boiler. 4 marks to the dollar then. It was a pleasant community.

I saw a couple of familiar buildings, but I only remember but so much having left there in 1975.

Well nice to see the PX where my Brother stolid new cars from! LOL Man I miss that place there from 88-92. My brother 88-89 LOL he got booted out

Thanks. It was a big day when I was taken to the PX for the first time in about Sep of 1970. I was stationed at Merrill and this place seemed like on the other side of the world.

I was interviewed when they opened the new PX mall: I was the first one through the line with a new CD in my hand (I think it was a Paul McCartney "All the Best"). lol whoo hoo! such importance. :) ah, the times I spent chewing on Robin Hood sandwiches here. 86 - 89

This bring back some memories. I was at W.O. Darby 1985 to 1988 240th S&S company. One of function I remember is pulling guard duty at the front gate with a ax handle. lol
