New Hope is blessed to have a wealth of talent as displayed in New Hope Celebrates' "Artists and Authors" series. The long-awaited documentary on New Hope's piano man Russell Eiffert is here. It premiered to a packed house at the Acme Screening Room in Lambertville yesterday. Filmmaker Eric Reilly did not disappoint. Russell is joined by a dozen of his singers and fans in telling his heart-warming story, including Michael Ferreri, Scott Davis, Fred White, Frank DeLuca and Deb Depaul.

This is a beautiful story about two wonderful men who opened their hearts to all who enter into their theatre. I loved listening to their history of MMT, and I have been honored to be with them on their stage. I would state that if you have not yet been to a show at Music Mountain Theatre, make it a reality- you will not be disappointed.

This is what makes New Hope the community it is! An amazing video that is one for the archives. A lesson not only in drag history but life itself.

Wonderful memories of our old days and good friends that are no longer with us. I remember the final show at the Prelude being May 1975. I was the reigning first Miss New Hope and was expected to be there. It was a bittersweet night seeing our girls on stage as we knew it. I’ll never forget, 5he following Saturday night going into the bar and it was deserted. I asked Tom what was going on and he said “this what everyone wants, a dance bar, so here it is”. Very sad to see it going from a packed house, to nothing. The new owners had a grand reopening in September of 75. The placed was packed. While waiting for the lot attendant to direct me to a parking place, a Cadillac El Dorado came off 179 and broadsided my car. My passenger and I were thrown out of the vehicle through the passenger door. I found myself laying in the parking lot. The car had also whipped the lot attendant and he went flying too. I was hit so hard that my Bonneville now a crescent. Fortunately no one was severely injured. My friends later said that the night Fairies Did Fly in New Hope.❤️👠💋💄

What a comprehensive, educating, and fun addition to our NHCH Artist and Authors series! All three of these women are multi~medium talents and inspirational to all who love making art and using their creativity more than their desire for commercialism. They are tributes to the LGBTQ+ community and exemplify the spirit of what New Hope was and is all about. They carry this show, aided by Sharyn Keiser’s sensitive direction and Dan Gramkee’s excellent filming finesse and editing skills. Thanks to all, including Dennis Bertland who keeps this series professionally organized. Our little series will be viewed into perpetuity.

Kenoka, thank you for sharing your story. My best friend in high school was gay, but not yet identifying as such. My heart broke at our 10th class reunion when a group of our mutual friends mocked him for having come out. I couldn't believe that people who had been in our close knit group would do that! He was not at the reunion and I remember saying something about him not being there to defend himself. I sure hope humanity grows up sometime soon.
