We learn more about both the strategies and progress to date on achieving grade-level literacy from our panelists: Trisha McManus, superintendent of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools; Esharan Monroe-Johnson, executive director of Love Literacy; and Adam Hill, executive director of Forsyth Futures. We also learn about new ways we are measuring literacy, in addition to test scores.

Youth Choir leading us in Worship on October 27, 2024. Though their sound and size are notable, most inspiring is the way our Youth take seriously their role as worship leaders at Knollwood. We are fortunate to have Christians of all ages guiding us to know and experience God's grace and goodness in the world.

Christian nationalists are not real Christian’s who follow Jesus. They run around with a mouth full of scripture and a heart full of hate.

Because there are over 10,000 denominations of Christianity and it's almost impossible to find two Christians who agree on everything, for a start.

Because Jesus does not command it? Because everyone doesn't believe like you do and it is wrong to use political power to force the actions of those who do not believe to correspond to your own personal interpretation of God and Jesus? But the most important reason is to keep the corruption of politics OUT of the church. The church does not break politics, politics will corrupt and break the church, America was NOT founded as a theocracy. If you want that, move to the Middle East (see what this mix has brought them?). I'm not saying you cannot have Christians IN government--but understand, that is not the same thing as a "Christian government."

Because Jesus did not command it? Because it is wrong to use the power of government to force your beliefs and behaviors on those who do not share those beliefs? Because it leads to conflict between religious groups as they vie for power (see Middle East for perfect examples). Most importantly, because religion does not purify or fix politics--it is politics that corrupts religion and religious beliefs. EVERYwhere religion and politics have mixed in history violence and conflict has been the result. This does not mean you cannot have Christians in government==that is quite something else.

I'm sorry, but I missed where the Bible says we should hide homosexuals and other sinners. I read where Jesus says to repent! The Truth is found in the inerrant Word of God... not in the fleshly desires of the modern culture. Knollwood Baptist should repent and teach the whole Bible to give their congregation a chance at salvation by making Jesus the Lord of their lives.

Rushdooney is part of NAR ? News to me. Everyone I hear talk about Rushdooney are of reformed either Baptist or Presbyterian background. Moreover, it's hardly focused on America alone, they envision a right model for every government to be framed by due deference to the morality which is grounded in respect for God. In contrast, the modern evangelical is largely tied up in an implicit allegiance to secularism. If you want to convince people CN is not worth their attention, you'll have to work a lot harder to address the issue of transgenderism and the ongoing mutilation of children which is championed by the modern left. Moreover, the cultural decline with the further embrace of secularism in the past 70+ years is evident for anyone with their eyes open.
