Had 300# sow come in w 3 cubs and one cub sat 4 yds from us. We were hunting from the ground.
@@robgilbert4556 that sounds like a wild experience.
Did you feel just a little bit like goldy locks there for a bit.

What kind of illegal bait you have there bud
@@JayMyers-l1w nothing illegal at all it was just a good year for acorns
Enjoyed your video. One of the great things about hunting, as you said, is that you never know what you will see!
Amazing footage my man
AWESOME VIDEO! How did you NOT crap your pants when that mama bear looked like she was coming UP YOUR TREE!
@@davewallace.8303 it was a challenge for sure!
Good demonstration of saddles being safer than a body harness! Nice recovery!
@@tombrennan6583 Thank you, that’s part of the reason i posted it.
The deer was way gone before the arrow ever hit the ground you need to get you a lawn mower or recurve
Noisy breathing for a bear.
@@WilbertRobichaud yes they make a lot of noise coming through the woods but that sound is unmistakable
That doe was MAGNIFICENT! She saw you and was alerting every thing in sight!
@@Durendal70 she picked me out because I was focusing on filming with the camera
Awesome video man !! An a lot of wildlife I think if I could get my bow pulled back without being detected that doe wouldn't have stamped her feet so much I don't think she will forget lol loved the bears playing around too really cool thanks for sharing that
Good video man ! I'm jumping onboard ! ✌
I like
Why all that cussing?
@@1Ggirl1959 because i work construction and have a potty mouth
You must be using Tinks. When a deer is looking towards you, you can’t move like you did.
@@jaywinters2483 no tinks needed back there i did a lot of things in this video I normally wouldn’t do when hunting. This trip was more about playing with the camera and seeing what all it takes to run a camera and hunt at the same time.
She almost came to say hello. I’m with you peace at its best. Helps me w 👨🏻🚒 ptsd. Been a life long Hunter ! Stay safe & good luck in gods woods ! Pa is a nice place to hunt !👍
That wasn’t a red fox brother, it was a grey.
Great video.
That was an awesome video, buddy. I had a bear in Maine climb up the tree. It came with in 6-8 feet of me till i thought it was close enough and I put a 300win mag in his chest. Thanks for sharing !! I had to share your video
@@WildAboutBeingOutdoors thanks for sharing the video ! It was an awesome opening day
@@WildAboutBeingOutdoors 300 win mag at that range must of done some damage
Great video. I've had a large male come up my tree in bow season years ago in PA. Glad to see they finally gave us a bow season for bear. I say make it like NY. If you have a bear tag you can harvest any legal bear in all big game season.
@@deepwood4 i get a bear tag every year because i know they are in the area. I didn’t know that NY could take a bear in any big game season. I’m not sure that would be good for pa’s bear population but it would def increase the bear harvest
@@jacobscreekoutdoors2274 there's no shortage of Bear in PA. It's just ridiculous that you can't fill a tag that's in your pocket because it's the wrong day.
That is probably the craziest video I’ve seen this year!! Wow just really impressive. I know it would have been better if you did miss the doe but just think you probably would’ve missed the show.
@@cspfitch it was def a wild evening in the woods
Next time use Thermo...😅
I use MRE heaters and pouch meals. I can cook them in my backpack pocket and don't have to play with fire and boiling water.
@@mikeybreakz6292 I’ll look into that
@@jacobscreekoutdoors2274 yeah man try to be safe out there.
😂😂😂I love cookies in a ziplock 😂😂😂
Not teying to be a smart ass, but wow, just wow. I have never seen or heard of a hunter cooking food while hunting in an elevated position. There are so so many ways to have a warm meal in the trees without having to resort to cooking. Elevated hunting be it saddle, stands, or other plafirms has inherent risks already. Adding fire to the equation just adds another risk to this already risky endeavor. Why anyone would do it is beyond me. The reality is hunger is just a mental thing. Your body is not actually in need of caloric intake in a short 12 hour stint in the stand. Thermos, MRE'S, solar heating systems, etc can all offer heated foods witbout the risks and the clutter. Honestly, from one hunter to another, this isn't the brightesr idea in the world. There's a readon why some animals continue to thrive and others go extinct. Stupidity is a skillset needed for selection into the Darwin hall of fames. Hunting like all endeavors is a mindset. If you cannot have the mindset of a hunter, you may want to reconsider hunting. Just saying, this isn't funny, it's just outright stupid. I don't mean to be disrespectful. I'm just telling you this as a fellow hunter because we all need it to keep us sharp and grounded as hunters. I mean,do you haul up a toilet and water to flush it too? If not, then seriously, leave you propane stove on the ground or better yet, at your campsite. Stay safe my friend and try not to win any Darwin awards.
Cool video! Even if the hunt is unsuccessful, you can still find enjoyment just being in nature and observing. Glad momma bear decided not to climb up to say hi.
I’d say there was nothing unsuccessful about that hunt. No he didn’t take a deer home but in my book, it doesn’t get much better than that.
Where’s the BBQ grill ?
I’m out here worrying about opening a pack of crackers 😂
😳Might I suggest smoked almonds and a zero bar?
I always have a small bag of trail mix and a cliff bar or 2
I mean I’m not eating when I go out but I mean if you HAVE to eat then I guess be careful
@@donoway2610 you do you man if I’m hunting all day I want something more than snacks to tide me over to dinner
I have thought about doing this exact same thing. I will take your example and add to it one of my ideas. Take a hole punch and put a hole in the bag before you head out. Take a small piece of cord and put it through that hole with the bag open so you can dump the water in without holding onto the bag.
@@tray22 holding onto the bag wasn’t the problem I leaned to far out of my center of gravity. Causing the stick I was standing on to kick out
@@jacobscreekoutdoors2274 The reason I was thinking of using a holepunch and a string is to free up a hand and also to hang the stove after I turn it off while it cools. That way I can step back onto the platform for the pour. I am an engineer and even thought about making a stove holder that folds up with my 3d printer so I can put the stove closer to the tree and up off to the side.
@@tray22 the stove being hot isn’t an issue by the time I turn it off and dump the water in the pouch it’s cold enough to handle by hand and disconnect it
@@jacobscreekoutdoors2274 I picked up a knockoff jet boil that has an insulation wrap that seems to keep it hot longer. Also with jet boil style the pot is attached so it is all 1 piece.
That was majestic. I hadn't considered this for long sits, but I'm suddenly happier to have a TL Mission platform than I initially thought.
@@rwmack3523 a platform in my opinion is a must it gives you a bit of room to shift around and get comfortable
I use MRE heaters and pouch meals. I can cook them in my backpack pocket and don't have to play with fire and boiling water.
You’re not there to hunt. You’re there to make a stupid video.
Were you out hunting or out to a buffet? lol!

100% better a clean miss than a poor hit.
Great job. I would have shit my pants when momma bear hugged the tree.
It was def going to get interesting if she kept climbing she had all 4 paws off the ground
