Hello. Are you burnishing? Vid is so fast I can't see kind of pencils. They don't look like Polychromos cause I just bought 21 today and they dyed. Your pencils seem all wooded.

Once again, I just didn't catch the type of paper you used here. Being able to add white on top of all those darker colors is invaluable. Beautiful drawing!

I just love poinsettias. They are so festive and colorful! After watching several of your drawings and subscribing, I think I understand the pull to your work besides the amazing beauty of it all. It reminds me of the pictures that the Victorians used to draw for cards and advertisements and still life before photos were affordable and used. That’s high praise by the way. I’ve always wondered at how they could produce such meticulously detailed and amazing pictures and, it seemed, so quickly. Terrific work! You have quite the eye.

That blue color is so satisfying somehow once you blend it out. How many layers did you put on before you blended it out? And did you use a marker pen for a base?

The blending is similar to graphite or charcoal I use makeup brushes. I also learned it’s the quality of paper being used as well, since using various amounts of pressure can cause the paper to indent or rip entirely.

I know I didn't realise/appreciate how long it takes until I started drawing realistic (animals in my case). [Not that it's a chore to spend so much time on one piece - I just get so carried away that I forget to do things like have something to eat and drink... 😂]
