Landing Starship on the Tower with Springblade legs (Starbase Sim Unity)
Is this how you're supposed to do it?
I know I said that there won't be any more videos in Starbase Sim Unity, but I had to make this one. And there are no legs in Unreal, so I couldn't have done it anyways. This is one of the landings that wouldn't be possible without springblade legs.

How do you set it up so that the starship is in approach mode?
This was made in an older version of the game called Starbase sim unity. There was a dedicated button in the starship panel for initiating a catch attempt. It's not yet implemented in the latest version though

Oh I'm not the developer of the game. I just make fun content using it
I'm the developer :) It will be on Epic Games Store first due to the multiplayer integration. This should happen pretty soon and when everything is figured out and working, it will come to Steam as well some time. yeah, the landing / controller stuff is brutal :D
the problem here is the center of gravity, u know the booster work as a pendulum, the mass is in the lower of booster by the weight of raptors, in this simulation the booster not have center of gravity not, the inercy is crazy, u may be need look the weight in the lower party of booster, in the real life the booster cant do those movement its always will fall in vertical form. and the gravity is not the correct.
Yeah, it feels a bit strange. The game is still in development so this will probably be fixed sooner or later. I'm not the developer of this game so I don't have much input into what is and isn't done, but thanks for commenting on this
it will fall vertically after some time. But if you apply crazy RCS forces once in a while it will look weird of course :D

Starbase Simulator! It's been remade in the Unreal engine recently, but you can still get this version

All through the bellyflop and flip, I was just going "This is so dumb, there's no way. This is so dumb..." and my jaw hit the floor when Starship cleared the doors.
how to spawn the Ship above the bay ? Because mine spawns above the launch site
You can change that using the distance downrange and angle sliders, which are in the landing settings

Sadly no, this takes a lot of adjustment to get it right if you want to try it yourself. I used a script to ignite the engines at the same moment every time, and adjusted to that

No idea. But you'll have to have a good phone if you want to run unreal

that. is. something. :D One note though, this is the Itch version, I think. In the latest update for supporters manual RCS control is slightly bugged currently and will stay on after releasing the button. So if you want to do this kind of stuff you actually have to use the Itch version currently.

This could be the BEST video that has ever been uploaded to TH-cam! Amazing! Great job!! Those landing legs are incredible! Where did they come from, just tucked up under there with the engines? No drag, one moving part, no heavy, frozen oil-filled shocks or fold-out joints/actuators, crush-cores or foot pads? You mean ALL of that is elegantly designed into that one moving part Blade, with Solid-state Damping, no extra parts for that? And they would be inspected & ready to fly again in 5-10 minutes, good for maybe 500 landings? Coolest legs ever!
Hey, thanks. I like how the video turned out, but it's definitely not the best video ever :) about the legs, just to be clear, I absolutely didn't design them or anything like that. I'm just playing the game here. I believe springbladeftw is responsible for... Hold on, isn't that you? Good job designing them, they work like a charm. Most of these landing attempts wouldn't be possible without them :)

There are currently two versions of the game available, one was made in Unity (which I'm running), and the more recent one which was made in unreal (and is missing some things, it's still in development). There's no tank farm in the unreal engine version.
