Great bunch of guys
elton BRAT 💜
That yodelling is impeccable
Out of all the singers that remade this song, the original creator remains the best! God rest his soul!
So he made the original ?
Fantastic song; never heard it before, and I'm grateful for the pleasure today, September 24, 2024; it doesn't appear he ever made a commercial recording of the song; rats, was hoping to find a copy; who'd want to end a love affair with a guy this nice looking and with such a nice voice? "Not I."
I love Elton Britt so much I grew up listening to sweet Elton
The meaning of the song paired with the ending of being served coffee is very deep & poetic. A lot to be stated by that.
HEY Thas my last name..
This song needs to be in the next Fallout.
Probably will be. Then you can say you liked it before fallout used it 😂
Yup!!
No.
Wepp pierce y elton brit guau
Eddy Arnold does it best imo
Think it’s because of the better sound quality. To me there’s something cool about Britt’s version

Plectrum banjo?
New vhs??) hahahahaha
How did yodelling make its way into this type of music? I always associate country music and bluegrass with the Ulster-Scots and nobody yodels back in Scotland or Ireland.
I interpret it like this : The wolf and coyote howl at night as a type of roll call to see if any others are out there. It's a beautiful yet sad sound that reflects the mood of being alone in the wild and longing for company. Similar to the cowpoke who travels from range to range, he is alone and wandering all by himself. The yodel, or howl that he sings is like him howling into the wild, metaphorically asking if anyone is out there, because just like the wolf and coyote, he is lonesome. In the Hank Williams Jr version the last verse is "Down on prairie, my pony and I, hear the wail of the coyote, hear his cry"
It must have something to do with cattle herding. Yodelling is a way of calling cattle over long distances. I think yodelling comes from nordic and germanic countries, it is common in nordic and germanic folk songs. Maybe it was used by American cattle herders influenced by Germanic settlers? You're right i live in Scotland and have never heard any yodelling.
Im 15 and and absolutely love this music, so calming
If you're listening to this that means you're a bright kid, congrats you're gonna go far in life.
anybody know the year this was filmed?
1951
Fantastic !
Quite a surprise when Jeeves serves him at the end.
グレイトウエスタンヨウデラ~
Is this from a movie?
Love this so much
This song take me back to watching John Wayne movie with my dad and grandpa ❤
I told so many: this must be my one and only funeral song, hope they remember. This song really seams to be my life. Don’t let it be said that little ole cabbi (also my nickname) can’t carry his load.. cheers
No wonder my Mom had a crush on him. Great music. They don't make these guys anymore.
Here i am 😅

I wish this was the music being promoted today because these young people need to understand what real music is supposed to sound like. I'm on 48 but I swear to you that I been here before in my past life
You speak the truth, brother.
Nice!
I'm lonesome, but happy, rich, but I'm broke And the good Lord knows the reason I'm just a cowpoke >From Cheyenne to Douglas, all the ranges I know 'Cause I drift with the wind, no one cares where I go I ain't got a dime in these old worn out jeans So I'll stop eatin' steak and go back to beans I'll pick up a ten spot in Prescott I know Well, I'm ridin' the broncs in the big rodeo Some evening in springtime a filly I'll find And I might spend all the summer with her on my mind But I'll never be branded and never be broke I'm a carefree, range ridin', driftin' cowpoke
Thank you
A lot of people have covered this song. Is this the original?
Yes. According to the internet it was written by Stan Jones and this was the first recording.
How did you find footage so clear?
awesome!
He is great😊
"We could have a picket fence with a house all around it."
Great line😅
Amazing rendition! Even the owl was completely mesmerized.

Awesome :) do you have more Motörhead? :)
I loaded 10 songs from that show! Hope you enjoy them!

Love it!
Beautiful song. I was 14 back in in 45 and I remember when it came out. Excellent performance by father and daughter. I can not get much better.
This, and his Sunrise Serenade. Beautiful songs. 👍
A "'Well''Worthy'" Parody Would (Have To) Be "Oh What It 'Turned-Out' To Be".
What a legend
The Best.
Exact!
I saw him at the Edmonton Blues Fest in 1988. I made it to the final five on his Minny The Moocher call and reply! My only claim to fame!
The yodel makes it 10x better
100%
Outstanding
Wow!
HOW! its Candy Candido the voice of the Chef Indian from Peter Pan
And the Awful Dinn in "The Phantom Tollbooth". And the angry Apple Tree that slaps Dorothy's hand for picking one of its apples, in "The Wizard of Oz".

The sort of talent only seen on shows like "Laugh In" and "Saturday Night Live" today.
goofy-ness....
Do u have their history
Noel Fole Ross Minkler was my great uncle. From what I gather he was a peacher, evangelist, and song writer. I've heard about the Minkler Quartet most of my life and I gather this was a recording they published. Probably in the mid 1950's time frame, but it could have been from the 1940's. Ross Minkler is well known among older Church of God (Anderson IN) folks. Since it was all before my time, I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about them.
Based on the label design 1949-53
An offten underrated Elvis song.
Always did like this song!
