Mt Cube, New Hampshire
I was in Hanover New Hampshire and White River Junction, VT for an Appalachian Trail regional partners meeting and we did a partner hike the day before all the meetings. This hike is up Mt Cube in Orford NH. We visited the south and north peaks. It was about 7.5 miles out and back from rt 25a. A beautiful fall day with the foliage nearing peak!

Final Ridgerunner weekend Sept 7-8 2024 HD 720p
มุมมอง 4221 วันที่ผ่านมา
This weekend was my final full season of 7 straight years of Ridgerunning on the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut. Who knows, maybe I will have more time again in the future and can fill in as needed again on another season or weekend when needed down the road. That would be fun and I certainly have been offered to do just that. But for now for the bigger picture, I am on to another trail manag...

Easter Weekend with Gandalf Part One

Gear Tip: Locking Laces 101
มุมมอง 1537 หลายเดือนก่อน
A short video about adding speed laces/locking laces to your hiking shoes. Many trail runners and hiking boots do not come with locking laces, and untied shoes are a safety hazard especially when hiking (or trail running). I love using locking laces. Here's how I added some I bought online to my Cascadias. I am not adding product links because these are not product endorsements just what i am us...

Lovely scenery man, forest looks so enchanting!
Lovely episode man, forest looks inviting and so enchanting and camping spot was just perfect! Rain fits perfectly here 👌👌
What a cool trail! Thanks for taking us here! Leaving a sub. Hope to see more!
Lovely work man, area looks gorgeous and so enchanting! Views from the top are amazing although the sandwich doesn't look bad either 😅
Looks like you are well organized and prepared, happy trails man!
Freeze dried skittles? Wow . Never heard of that. I gotta try that
I learned about them on the NH trip with Reach Your Summit last year, and now I am always packing some!
Gorgeous scenery and weather was absolutely perfect! Shelter looks fantastic 👌
@@ervinslens thanks friend ! Wait till you see the scenery in the next ones !
Lovely episode man, nicely put together!
thank you! was fun
Lovely video man, this looks and feels so enjoyable and simply enchanting!
🎶 "Promo SM"
This is absolutely amazing my friend 👏👏
No offence but it seems like the reproofing failed as the jacket is absorbing all the rain on the shoulders after only a few drops of rain...
The jacket has continued to keep me dry ever since . I’ll go by my experience wearing it versus your internet video opinion but thanks for your feedback …
Fantastic work man, this episode was simply enjoyable! That tree looks really incredible, nature in all its manifestations amazes even when it is apparently destroyed.
Nice work man, it was a little surprising to me because the trail looks like it is so far from civilization and then you cross an asphalted road.
thanks! yeah the Appalachian Trail was envisioned about 100 years ago with the awareness that the open public space in this part of the country was rapidly shrinking due to industry and economic growth and Benton McKaye wanted to build a foot path through it that gave everyone along its route access to the wilderness experience before there wasn't the possibility. So while there are some far more remote parts of the Appalachian Trail than in Connecticut, you're never really farther than 10-20 miles from some kind of road or civilization. Which is good for those trips into town to resupply and get out of extreme weather.
@@happyonthetrails Didn’t know that, thanks for these facts!
On man those are awesome. That’s why I bought Solomon because they came with them . For whatever reason I never thought to buy them separately and put them on other runners. Thx
Nice upload bud 👌
Nice video. Do you know if there is a permit needed for overnight camping? Thanks
thanks! on the A.T. in Connecticut, camping is allowed at the official campsites only - no stealth camping. but no permits are required to camp at the campsites in this section. good news is in the 52 miles theres over 10 campsites /shelters
Great video, looks like a fun place to hike! Sorry to hear about the back and knee, but glad you’re back at it! Cheers to more in 2024!
wow! while some people (like me) are dreaming about nice hike - other do it! respect, bro!
also there is a lot of mites this year. lot!!!
nice! i always trying to hike there. though work and other stuff does not allow me...
Fantastic upload my friend, gorgeous looking trail!
thanks friend!
What era were those popular in?
Great upload bud, this trail looks just great! Views are amazing, 👏👏
thank you my friend!
Absolutely gorgeous work my friend, this looks great! Views are simply stunning!
love it. useful trip! )
This is a beautiful trip, such a gorgeous and unique place. Everything here is done so nicely. (Filming, editing, narration)
thanks! it was challenging but fun!
Goffe. Colonel William Goffe was the third. Most people forget to mention the name of the man who hid the Regicides on his 1,200-acre property. The property you’re walking on in the video. Richard Sperry and his entire family risked death by hiding the 3 judges. Give the man his due credit, please. He & his family are the reason you see the name Sperry everywhere in that area.
Tough one with the humidity, never seen Schaghticoke falls so low. One of my favorite sections.
most of the small water sources up there were dry. luckily this one, algo and thayer were in good shape. it is a great and tough section, the reroute is really nice
Such a beautiful and simply atmospheric hike bud. Gorgeous adventure 🥾🥾
thank you! very hotttttt though
Gorgeous looking cave, place looks so serene and inviting!

Fantastic looking winter scenery my friend. Love it!
I hand washed my jacket and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
A capful holds 50ml. I measured. Thanks for the video!
Congrats thumbs up! I’m still hiking the 48.
Fantastic scenery friend, this is truly gorgeous!
Thank you, I was surprised by the beautiful rugged terrain in parts, it was a lot of fun!
I can't never get it to bead again. Might try a light iron.
try tumble dry on medium heat. sometimes the DWR needs a little more heat to activate again.
Be sure to check out the gorge stone bridge next time. Remarakable workmanship
I went back it is beautiful!
As usual gorgeous and relaxing presentation my friend. 👌👌
thank you !!!!
Hi, did the nikwax give a good clean? I know it’s not miracle work but wondering if you have any experience of it lifting oil or grim from the jacket? Any feedback
yes it removed a lot of the dirt, which is what causes a lot of the wetting out i read.
Another great video
Great video. You deserve more views, likes and followers. I just followed. Stay safe on trail.
