Thinking we might have a Dallas Ranger final. 2010 Stanley Cup Final renewed in the Rangers vs Canucks series.
Yeah, that is a strong possibility! The Canucks are a live wire though. New York may have their hands full.
Fun to watch. The tactic cards add an interesting coaching element to the game. Rangers on a roll. Everything seemed to go their way!
Way to go Rangers!!!
@@bryancleveland339 I’m still buzzing about this series! Never expected Boston to get up 3-0 in the first place, but there’s no way I could see the Rangers digging out of that hole either.
@ didn’t they give up a 3-0 back in 22-23 to Florida that lost to Vegas? Can’t remember if it was 3-0 or 3-1
Great video. The Bruins-Rangers matchup will be a classic. 7 game classic.
Just remember Calgary gets home ice not Dallas
I liked the comment about news networks
Hey Gary, Im wondering after watching this, How this game would play out if instead of having every player being involved in the play result roll, Just have each teams line on the ice instead of the entire team and rotate the lines accordingly. Im thinking it may give the game an interesting and intriguing style of play, More of a chance for the players to matchup against specific players more often by lowering the amount of players involved in the play result roll. Food for thought, Take Care
Well, Stone Cold is designed to be a hybrid quick play/highlight game; team based. I'm happy with it as-is.
looks to busy
Yeah, there’s a lot going on, but if you’re in the mood for detail, it delivers.
With all due respect to Grant, I bought this game a couple of months ago and I didn’t have as much fun playing it as I thought I would. It felt like all was doing is reading script and comparing values with all the constant lookups you have to do and all the in my opinion unnecessary moving parts made it very difficult to really enjoy in a decent amount of time, To many things slowing the game flow down. Thanks Gary
Understandable. I have been overwhelmed with it a couple times. So I tend to use it one-period-at-time, to zoom-in on key period of a crucial game. I've only played two or three full games with it, and they took about an hour per period.
Awesome
Nice
This is going to be a fun project Gary. Thanks for recommending it. I'll get started on one of the series this week.
Thanks!
The other thing with PDF is you could publish errata pages when errors are found and people that have already bought a PDF can download updated rule books ETC. Bought Legends of Boxing 2 PDF and the computer version from ASG and am running a fictional heavyweight universe using both mediums and some homemade spreadsheets.....Many hours of gaming fun.....Great System.
Thank you! Yes, PDF is much more forgiving when errata is needed.
Great video Gary
? Where do you get ridged document protectors? Like the plastic game boxes
Just search Amazon. You should get several options.
On Madison, I later decided to add a free agent Enforcer to justify the AGG increase. Narrative can and should take precedence over the raw numbers.
Nice, thanks you. Another questions about FOUL... when a red foul boxer red score points in the round ? what are the penalty of FOUL ? Hope you understand...
So once 5 foul points are accrued, the fighter is deducted a point on the scorecards for that round.
@@GamescapeSMP ok but during a round.. fouls point are accumulate to score ?
hi, can you explain the Fatigue POW DRAIN (french player) thanks
Sure. At Fatigue level 1, there is a significant drop in POW. Go to the Power Drain table and lookup the fighter’s POW in the left column. The corresponding row in the right column shows the fighter’s new POW rating at Fatigue Level 1. Thereafter, POW will only drop 1 point each time. These deductions occur at levels 3, 5, and 7.
Tiers within the comp level (e.g., regional, national, etc) are only relevant for finding opponents, right? Your fighters dont use tiers like the opponents do, so when youre checking whether an opponent is equal its between levels like regional vs. National without regard to tier?
Right. Tiers are only relevant for generating potential opponents.
If a fighter reaches TKO points in a round that didn't follow a round where he lost by 6, he's safe, right? What happens going forward? He has to lose a future round by 6 and then be down 6 in the round directly following it? It'll keep resetting if he finishes a round with a scoring difference less than 6?
Correct
? When counting TKO points don't they carry over from 1 round to the next ? So when making deductions at the end of a round If you got 1 tko point in round 1 + 1 tko point in round 2 And fighter was on the inside then there would be - 4 points in endurance
No. TKO points only accumulate against the TKO rating. Each round, the TKO points suffered also count against the Endurance deduction.
Hello, Gary. I hope you and the family are well. This will be a fantastic second edition, looking forward to this and the future baseball product.
Hey Jason, good to hear from you! Thanks for the encouragement. Hope all is well over there on the Western Slope.
@@GamescapeSMP We are great, thank you! How's that simple life on the ranch? Obviously, it has inspired you in the last few years. Great stuff.
Yeah id say 82 isnt low 😂
Thank you for this Gary I am new to Lob 2
I'm familiar with Quarry! He was a local boxer. I'm pulling for Quarry.
Looks good Gary!
Looking forward to season 3
Wow!! What a game Gary
I've been looking for a new dice tower! Gonna check it out.
pc dice united, whats the control button on on the team page do it lights up but i don't see it do anything
That’s just an indicator of which team is in control at the moment.
I am having fun writing on the iPad with my pen and then saving.
I like this very good, what program is that on your phone? I might be sble to use that
That app is just called "Dice". I just use the free black & white version.
Thanks for doing this, I just played my first game and it went right to the end, I forgot the hard stop item in 3rd period these are good videos just wish it was closer but I am making it work.😊
Where do you get the Excel template, or did I miss that?
Hey Jeff, on the SMP webpage there is a link to "The Summit Archives". I believe there is an Excel workbook in there for creating teams for SCH.
Hi, I'm a big fan of Dice United and am interested in this game as well. One question though, does Stone Cold Hockey include the Two-Player Match option and Interactive Mode like in Dice United? Are there options for some managerial decisions like changing tactics during the game? Thanks.
There's nothing in the core instructions, mainly because I am not aware of many customers that want such a feature. Based on feedback from DU, I would estimate that about 5% use the two-player options. However, I have a partially-developed deck of tactics cards that could offered in the future. I just need to get some face-to-face time with another SCH player to finish development.
@@GamescapeSMP Oh, that's kinda disappointing. I enjoyed the option for two-player games and the tactics options included in Dice United. It gave it more value as a game. I would suggest adding a similar system for every sports game (if feasible). Even though I mostly played DU solo, I did have fun playing it with a friend a few times, especially since its a good way to teach someone else the game. I know most people who play these games are playing it solo, but still, I think its worth the inclusion.
That was a bloodbath. I didn't expect it to get so...violent. Great match! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to getting the final product.
Right? Yeah, two or three high rolls on the cut chart and things get ugly. Surprised that there wasn’t a cut stoppage. Thanks for following along!
Should be one heck of a final! Cant wait!
I hope so! I'm looking forward to playing it this afternoon. Hopefully the video will be uploaded a couple hours later.
Is the game available? Thx
Currently in development. Hopefully we can have it ready in December sometime.
Those matches were going to be great no matter how they came out. This was a great one! I can't wait to get my hands on it!
👍🙂
What do you think about a house rule that you take the difference from the prior round and add it to the winning fighter's stance roll and subtract it from the losing fighter's stance roll?
Thanks for the comment! Interesting modifier; I'd prefer it be applied to the winning fighter's Mode check only. That makes more sense to me in terms of momentum and confidence. If it is applied to both, I suspect it would be too much of an effect and actually make fights less interesting in the long run.
@@GamescapeSMP I am a very casual fan. It seems to me that if a fighter gets pummeled, he's more likely to fight elusively. Of course, I forgot that the winner of the round stays in their mode, which makes sense. If your strategy worked well the prior round, stick with it. Regardless, love your game. I've been thinking of busing it our again. Looking forward to LOB2.
Thanks for the encouragement guys! I am super excited about the changes and the effect on the action. More to come!
So stoked about this game!!
Count me in as a beta tester any time Gary Would love to try it again Just sorry had irl stuff happen last time Love what you did with du2
Hey Gary! Great news! 👍👍👍
Very excited for this, Gary!
Is there a way to use NFL teams and players? Thanks. And Your game looks really fun!
Thanks! I produced a special set based on the 1980 NFL season a few years ago, so it can be done. On the downside, the process requires a lot of judgement calls, so it is not a clear cut conversion based on stats.
@@GamescapeSMP I see, that makes sense. I think it would be cool to use NFL team names but with the fictional players. I know that wouldn't be too popular with other gamers but it sounds cool to me. Thanks again!
5 nil thats rough
Love Dice United, got 1st edition and the SPL Season. Look forward to V2 but as I live in the UK it’ll have to be pdf for me, any idea when they’ll be available to order?
