Could I just check, do you sell the controller box and app? I can set routes and waypoints on opencpn from laptop and my st1000 follows it via seatalk/nmea converter but every time it reaches a waypoint a physics button needs pushed on the tillerpilot for the course change to be accepted? If I’m getting this right you’ve created a device that allows you to confirm the route via a phone from anywhere on the boat?? Is that correct? If that’s true this is a game changer

After it stalls out, choke the engine and try to restart it, it should run a few more seconds, that little bit of gas that’s in the carburetor is enough to gum you up

For my 7m sailing trimaran, I used to have an ST1000, but went to the Simrad TP22. This was mainly to be able to change the seastate control on the fly, but more importantly, have built in full travel limit switches to stop the unit from self destructing. I would love to get a cheap DIY remote for the Simrad. Would your unit work? Or if not do you know of any other sites I could look at. The only ones I have found were complrex. Thanks

hi, This is very interesting. mine has a tendency to occasionally just push to full extension while in auto mode. ie the electronics tries to make a course correction, and extends the piston, but it doesn't stop, and goes to full extension. could this be caused/fixed by calibration?

Does anybody know if these use the correct (Class B CSTDMA) carrier sense protocol? If not, then use of them at sea seems irresponsible as they may interrupt other valid transmissions, rather than waiting for an open timeslot.

quite fancy one of those outboards as a spare backup , the price has went up since you unboxed it ,i going to start removing the ethanol from my petrol clean up 20 litres at a time will be better for the engine performance

They are aircooled. Does not have to be in water to test these out. The foot is a pain to get off. I struggle too. But other then that. Good little knock around motors.

You need to fix your audio. The intro is screaming loud compared to the first monologue then it jumps up again for the main recording. Makes us adjust high then low then high again unnecessarily which makes me not want to watch any further.

How do you prevent an on board AIS receiver from seeing you as a target as transmitted by the ST-109? I have a VHF radio that has an AIS receiver and seems to me the CPA to my receiver would be zero and if a zone alarm was set it would be constantly going off thus rendering that function useless. Please advise.

My steering tiller handle is backwards.I guess it was made that way, so u can do fishing from the back of the boat and be able to steer it while there, So if I install a raymarine, my boat will wanna steer the opposite direction of what raymarine is trying to turn. Do you have any idea if there is a setting or adjustment for that?

What I am trying to work out is a way of sending waypoint information from OpenCPN to the ST1000 to follow routes. So it turns the boat on each waypoint like an autopilot would. Without manually having to press the buttons to correct course each waypoint.

I would like something that could connect to my Raymarine ST instruments (such as the RayControl or RayView Apps) whilst I am down in the salon without the need to turn on my chart plotter. Turning on the chartplotter MFD uses too much power but needs to be on to create the WiFI for the RayControl App to talk too. Would be great for instance to use the RayControl App on my iPad to look at the Wind Speed I reading with switching on the chart plotter - a solution to this issue would be great

This would also work with the newer Evolution autopilots, via a Seatalk to STng converter. This is the current solution Raymarine offer with the S100 remote. Good work! 👍

First I was not able to fill in the "name" (stopped after one letter). Writing the boat's name in notepad, copy and paste it in the name field of the app did the trick!
