You can’t really separate Chappell Roan’s campiness from her queerness! They go hand in hand. As a pop culture connoisseur, I hope you’re more in tune with that than you’re letting on, because it’s not just the kids that are celebrating the unapologetic way that her queerness is celebrated within all of her art - from her music to her campiness to her costuming to her “your favorite artist’s favorite artist” catchphrase, borrowed from drag queen Sasha Colby! Her unapologetic celebration of queerness is part of her meteoric rise to fame and is especially interesting in a time when the political climate feels very anti-queer. I would’ve loved to hear more about that!
