    I have a situation where the overheat contact attached to the coil frame apparently was loose and the contact and spacer have worn like crazy… this has resulted on the White electrical wire to break off from that connection. are those two parts available?

    My HP80 does not contain or need the safety screws included in the kit. It has a safety micro switch cutout. Also their is no screw in the filter cover.

    Bought the kit and replaced everything, very basic. Ran it with cover off to watch it operate and watched as the nylon nut melted off the screw? The screw was fine.

    What is the purpose of the micro switch? I think it shuts off the motor if a diaphragm fails….?

    • @paulhupman2902
      @paulhupman2902 ปีที่แล้ว

      The purpose is to randomly turn off the pump when nothing else is wrong. Old pump ran 18 years. New safety switch pump randomly trips. Reset it and it may run a few months or only a day. If I was a pro, I'd send these back and get the old plastic screw type unless you want to explain it to customers.

    I just replaced the air filter and both diaphrams. The pump doesnt seem any better, actually a little louder. Could i have tightened the nut too much on the diaphrams?

      Sorry for the late reply. That is possible, but noise usually comes from air or vibration. How do your gaskets look? Is the base gasket deteriorated? Also, did you install an authentic rebuild kit or a knock-off?

  • @SarahWind

    Should I install a safety valve and check valve on the tubes between the hiblow and difusers? Or is it protected against pressure increases and back pressure?

    Many thanks for what is obviously great customer service. I came looking just to clarify the two types of safety and found the exact answer I was looking for. While I appreciate my septic company, I appreciate even more not needing to call them out for an emergent weekend visit to sell me a rebuilt pump when I can spend pennys on the dollar to rebuild it myself. Much appreciated.

    • @ja-wu4wn
      @ja-wu4wn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a safety screw. There are two different variations. One with a white sliding device on top of the magnet and one that uses the safety screw. This video references the two different versions. This video is for the one that does NOT use the screw. If you fast forward to the point they are talking about it they reference their video that shows the version with the screw.

    Just got my new HP80. There is a little brass nipple on the side that air comes out of depending on how much you restrict the air flow coming out of the main output port. What is it for and what should I know about it? It is mentioned no where in the manual.

    • @hiblowusa
      @hiblowusa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I apologize for the delay - just saw this question. The brass nipple is used to connect a small tube that goes to an external alarm panel - used for septic applications. If the pressure drops below 1 PSI, the alarm will sound. If you do not need the nipple, simply replace it with the screw that is in the box.

    Recently had to replace mine and the plumber offered a rebuild pump for 1/2 price. $300. Well, I kept the old one and ordered your kit, easy to install and now I have a spare.

    Hello. My compressor is two years old, I changed the rubber membranes today because they were deteriorated. Now, after a few hours, I see that the supercharger seems hot to me. Do you have this problem on these models? I never noticed that before, but I don't remember whether it was heating or not. Moreover, I find the air that comes out extremely hot too.

    • @hiblowusa
      @hiblowusa ปีที่แล้ว

      The pumps do feel hot to the touch, but you can usually keep your hand on the top without discomfort for 3 seconds or more

      Hi David - I'm sorry for the late reply, I wasn't notified of your question for some reason. Please email info@hiblow-usa.com and I can try and assist you from there. Diaphragms should last longer than 2 years so I think we should look into some outside variables that can increase heat and therefore reduce the life of the diaphragms (excess pressure, air circulation, shelter, etc...)

    Bonjour . Mon compresseur a deux ans, j’ai changé les membranes en caoutchouc ce jour car elles étaient détériorées . Or je constate après quelques heure que le surpresseur me paraît chaud. Avez vous ce problème la sur ces modèles ? Je n’ai jamais remarqué cela avant mais je ne me souviens plus si il chauffait ou pas . De plus je trouve l’air qui sort extrêmement chaud aussi . Je vous remercie par avance

      Probably the chamber blocks and/or diaphragms are cracked or leaking.
