Oh wow.. what an amazing accomplishment!! LOL. How hard is it to be a private school that can attract the best players in the entire population of Jackson to guarantee a FF appearance?? what a joke.. MHSAA needs to catch up with the times and do what other states do> Separate the private schools from public schools in playoffs. Fun fact.. Private schools make up 14% of schools, yet since 2020 they have won 40% of football championships. But sure, lets just pretend its all about the program and coaching LOL

Herb Brogan is a legend. I remember watching the rivalry that existed between Marysville and Jackson Lumen Christi throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Marysville's legendary Coach Walt Braun had a lot of respect for Coach Herb Brogan. I remember Coach Braun had a 10-year winning streak against Lumen Christi, but then ironically had that streak snapped in 1992 - which was one of the years Coach Braun won another State Championship. Every single year the Marsyville vs Jackson Lumen Christi game was "Game of the Week" in the Detroit News and Free Press plus all the local newspapers. Coach Braun was the true master of the Wing-T Offense. Braun had an 11-year winning streak against Marine City in one time period, a 6-year winning streak against Marine City in another period, and other long streaks from the ealry 60s to the end of the 90s. Coach Brogan is being conservative in this interview. There is no doubt Jackson Lumen Christi easily crushed Marine City. By the 3rd Quarter, the score was 35-0 with a running clock for the rest of the game. Marine City only scored in the 4th Quarter against the backups of Jackson Lumen Christi.

I was 15 when it closed. But my Mom and Aunt took us kids every week there. We also meet school friends there and would have so much fun there. Can't wait to go back to see a movie or even see a Comedian there. Very excited.

Ah, David DeBaker. I remember riding in his mom's Pacer, 1980ish.

I can guarantee that the County Administrator Mike Overton has never spent more than a 1/2 hour in this building. It probably one of the most important buildings under his regime. If he took a close look he would realize the potential for a huge lawsuit from a corrections officer,inmate or Facilities worker in this building because of the safety issues that the Sheriff has pointed out!

The Sheriff just inherited problems that were going on way before he took office. You can thank you're County commission and the previous Facilities manager.

On another note. The Chanter rd. Jail has its own problems. I got called in one early morning at 3 am because they couldn't unlock an isolation cell at that facility. Turned out an inmate had put a staple in the lock and rendered it unusable. We had to remove the door from the hinges and the isolation cell was down several hours until we could clear the lock

First I'd like to say that I worked maintenance in the jail from 2007 to 2014. There was no training for working in a correction facility given to anyone that had to work in that environment. The problems shown in this video were problems then and haven't been addressed. Mostly because Herman Scheele tried to play superman and make himself look good as the County Facilities manager. You can't expect people with no corrections background to maintain an antiquated facility and keep it safe for staff and inmates.
