That is a very generous assessment.
Brigadier vs. Brig?
Haven’t done a side by side. Little guy is good though.
As a brit i love the dry humour. Loving this series of vids on pedalboards guys ... keep it up 👍
Thanks, will do!
Always beautiful! 🙌 Where do you guys get that plate that you put on top? If it’s possible to ask.
We make them here in the shop.
Is there anyway for you to do a video showing the beginning of the building? Basically showing the pedalboard with nothing on it and sort of video document how you prepare the board for mounting the pedals and running the power cables, if I make sense? I really want to see how you mount each pedal and make everything so neat? I’m probably not making sense. I love your videos on these builds as well as your instagram stuff! Thanks for doing these! One more question, what do you do to the eq pedals? I’ve never used an eq pedal before and after listening to all kinds of videos saying it’s the most important pedal on their board, I just bought the Boss one. How does your mod change the pedal? Thank you!
We may do some more like that. We've got some of those up on our Instagram.
H90 ❤
It's a good one!
how much do you charge for your eq pedal im looking for a boss eq at this time
They are $220 on our website. We'll have more in stock ASAP.
Sorry for a dumb question but..what are those channel things that the cables are running through called?
Do you mean the adhesive tie mounts?
@@xacttone Yes! I've never seen those before. Makes everything so neat.
You're boards are so perfect.
By the Brig sounding better than the old ones, were y’all talking about the Brigadier or the old MM’s?
We prefer them to the DMMs, mostly for consistency's sake.
#timepoint 5:10💯 *That is the same switch on my FAMC Liquid Foot Controller. I love them!*
Interesting, I thought those were hall effect switches. Haven't seen one in a long time though.
Cool board. Btw, I like when you do a quick play though. Some of these pedals here I’m unfamiliar with and would love to hear them.
Thanks! We're trying to mix the play thru in on a semi-regular basis.
Love the videos. I remember stopping by the shop a couple years ago to try out some pedals. You guys were so welcoming and I’m just a regular dude
We identify as regular dudes, too.
Compact is the best pact. 👍🏽
That's impactful.
WHAT is wrong with having a couple short fold down legs at that edge, to give it support, then fold back up when being carried?
Nothing would be wrong with that. If it needs it we'll do that. Doesn't look like it's needed.
Feet would completely remove any concerns if wobble / structural stress on the over hanged portion. Should come standard with the overhang extension mod IMO.
@@danielconrad764 maybe if feet were available in the correct size.
Metro 20 Upper Decker
I wonder if marketing would clear it.
That's a great size. A Metro XD20. I'd buy one.
I bet it winds up happening...
YES please. I run a Metro for my compact board and I would absolutely love an extension like this. Nice build.
It's a good platform size.
I tried running a (borrowed) HX One from a CIOKS DC7 and had a lot of noise. Have you guys (or anyone else looking on) had that issue. For context It was running with pretty standard stuff at the end of my chain immediately post a Flint, running into the front of the amp.
We've not had any issues with that.
Board looks nice. I like the fact that the pedal choices are not overly bootekee.
I like that, too!
Sorry but it's not Dann HUFF on LOS LOBOTOMYS "Candyman" but Steve LUKATHER
No need to be sorry. I know Luke played on Candyman. Those are just two important records for me. Talking about Dann, so I didn’t mention Luke.
Yet another Buka-board!
Not exactly. Nashville influence is certainly there though!
A good analog reverb?
There’s not many. Some companies make pedal spring reverbs, they can be noisy in practice.
I like the blurb about your love of Dann's playing and interest in electronics as a youth. Short of getting a degree in electrical engineering, what books or resources do you recommend for people getting into electronics? Been reading Forrest Mimms's Getting Starting in Electronics. Super accessible and heard it's a classic. Cheers!
Mimms is awesome. That’s what I read as a kid. If you’re looking into stomp box electronics, Brian Wampler has made a bunch of resources. If you are looking for a more general dive, check out The Art of Electronics (Horowitz & Hill). Dr. Marshall Leach has lots of good resources on his pages at gatech.edu.
Only 11 years late on this clip but THIS Will never get old!! What glorious tone and Chops with heart and SOUL!! WOW thanks Matthew C
Ryan is a right monster guitar player.
Since you've built hundreds of pedalboards and everything - Would you care to recommend what patch cables do you mostly use on your boards? Would like to hear if you have any recommendations for favourite ones and favourite cost effective ones? Best Regards!
We make all of our cables custom here at the shop. We use mostly Mogami cable.
Love these videos guys!
Glad you like them!
Every time he says “Hi Erick” they put a smile on my face!

Thanks for doing these videos. Highlight of my day

You could do old Deep Purple covers with that octave pedal! Very nice!

I never know where to put trem. Mine is after vibrato, but before delay and verb. Rotary is also hard to place..
You’re in good company.
I throw the rotary dead last after the trem. My thinking is that while trem is last in a back face, the Leslie cab is being fed after that with everything going into it.
The Red Llama is awesome
Agreed.
One of the best od ever
Love the pedal order! I always put all modulation after delays and reverbs. I love the way a good chorus or tremolo modulates reverb tails and delay wash vs putting them before. In a stereo rig it’s otherworldly.
Approved!
@@xacttone I’ll take it!
Eric is right about pedal order, but my tremolo is last.
I try not to let him know when he’s right. 😂
@@xacttone well you get a back room guy like Eric, and we can’t have his ego outgrow his work room. I remember that space being tight. lol.
Star Physical Therapy shirt! I used to work there haha
Thank you for your service.
Auto return wahs are trash...and you can search reverb and equipboard for pedals of a certain color....although I've never had a board with all purple pedals....interested 😮

i love the different flavored nerds that we're seeing around the shop lately lol
I hope you mean the candy.
@@xacttone LOLLLL
Two thumbs up because it’s for Joey O’ !
💯
Love the trem last. Verb sounds cool going into it.
It does! Verb post trem can wash out the tremnicity.
Loving this. Also heard you say Huff board and thought of that scene from Elf: "Not just any skateboard. A real Huff board!"
This is the board they were talking about.
@@xacttone Aww Yisss
That wiring is GLORIOUS. At the risk of speaking for all guitar players, we are nothing if not a fickle bunch. I am CONSTANTLY swapping pedals in and out-even if they don’t “look right”. If it fits, it ships. Barry and Eric allow me this luxury by leaving ample room in the wiring for me to swap a side jack pedal for one with top jacks and vice versa. It doesn’t even matter where on the box the power jack is; there is enough slack to make it happen (and much of that slack is hidden under the pedal where possible). For working guys who have more pitiful commitment issues to stomp boxes than the average person trying to stick to a fad diet, this is immensely helpful. The point of my board isn’t to look aesthetically pleasing; it’s to do my job and switch up sounds (and pedals if needed) as quickly and painlessly as possible.
🥰🥰🥰
this is so cool!!!
🤘🤘
Could I use spst momentary switches to replace the tact switches in Tc electronics x4 pedals ? I'm in the boat a 2nd time with the lil crap TC pad tactile switches.
Not sure there’s enough clearance between the enclosure and the PCB for that. Sorry, mate.
You know, for the longest time I thought there was a connection between Christian rock band David and the Giants and Giant because these are Huffs from the Nashville/Brentwood area. (I'm a Huff also, by the way. No relation). But as it turns out this is just a coincidence. I'm a little bummed but also amazed!
As a kid, thought Randy Travis was related to Arnold Schwarzenegger. I really can’t explain why.
