Million Monkeys was something I was super excited to see released worldwide when I was a kid. At that age, I knew there was something different about Pumped and Primed, even though I couldn't figure out what it was (the speed and combat focus) and wanted the concepts of P&P and the normal games' monkey catching mechanics combined. When Million Monkeys was in development and GameSpot showed pictures and videos, it felt like 'my idea came true!' Then we never got it. My expectations grew after that as if it was a lost gem out of reach. I played it myself and unlocked Jake, Helga, and the Pipotrons, and while I like it, it didn't live up to my hype and expectations since the monkey catching part was optional in almost every mission, and I can't read anything so menu navigation was a nightmare. I think you spam spinning the right analog stick while equipping the stunclub, and R1 (which activates the jetpack, canceling the spin attack, allowing you to spam it). I'd be more certain that that's how you do it, but I haven't touched this game in 8 years, and I honestly don't want to play it again because of my personal hype backlash. Also, it's Spike from Ape Escape. The kid can get shot with bullets from an uzi and just whine a little, and magic punch down walls. Beating the crap out of a giant mech is average Tuesday for him. Also that giant robot is supposed to be the Goliath/Gorilliac of this game. 7:45 - Personally, I hate how bland and grey everything is. For an Ape Escape game, it feels wrong (or rather, it feels less preferable by comparison to what was done with other games based on my personal standards of preferring high saturation and lots of color). 9:45 - The skates and jetpack are cool in theory, but their only use is to replace the already existing gadgets, so they feel superfluous and personality-less by comparison. 10:13 - th-cam.com/video/g_8K-VMzqgk/w-d-xo.html Someone did a fandub of the game. Couldn't find an English patch. Nowadays I can use a phone app to translate text in real time to help me figure out what the text says. 10:25 - Interesting that P&P winds up being the better competitive game on accident as a party game, while Million Monkeys, the one that tried to be a hardcore combat game, wound up worse at it.
