This was a great and helpful video! I have a customer service background, but I am in the mist of pivoting into the healthcare/health tech field. I am interested in looking into health informatics, but I have no background in healthcare. Is it still possible for me to go into this field?

I've never received any titles. But I've done the work. I've taken care of a quadriplegic, 3 women with alzheimers, and for the last 4 months my mother in law who has advanced dementia, plus a stroke. But no I have never went to college for a title. I do have a GED . But I couldn't yell you where it is, lol lost it. So I don't really fit this criteria. 😊

I’m curious about the UR/UM process and have some issues with getting proper treatment for a bilateral crush injury. It’s been over 20 years and recently I started doing some deep research in Crush Compartment Syndrome. The initial injury, from what I have learned was never treated properly, and I suspect the first treating physician set the tone for treatment through false documentation. That just contributed to my suspicions he was a phony doctor. But over the past two years I noticed some sudden changes. For the past over 20 years I have suffered from chronic pain, but recently the bruising that never went away started getting worse and some peripheral indications that match Crush Compartment Syndrome have presented themselves and the pain has been moving into my upper legs and hip. That’s all background information about my situation and why I have a personal interest in the UR system. The question pertains to how UR contracts are written between the UR and the insurance companies. Seems to me to satisfy the contract requirements the URs are being manipulated or coerced into violating the AMA Ethics Codes. In particular 8.5, 8.6, 8.9, and 10.2 are sections of concern. these sections of the code directly affect an injured employees personal health and ability to recover from an injury. Are URs beholden to satisfy insurance company financial objectives or is this just a breakdown of the medical industry where a physician who has never examined a patient feels the need to demonstrate power over the treating physician?

Thanks so much for the information very helpful, quick question; what would be the optimal way to handle communication between the home health agency providing a new referral to one of my contracted therapists? In the interest of making passive income is there an administrator? Or is the home healthcompany deals directly with my contracted PRN therapist, what if they trying refer someone that is way far away from the therapist typical coverage area?
