      Great question! The Brand Center was announced by Microsoft in May 2023. The Microsoft 365 Roadmap indicates an end-of-year rollout, but that could change.

      I think Workday has a great platform and experience set here! I find the pre-integration experiences with Viva Insights has a big part of the more accessible value proposition for GLINT for my customers today as does overlap on other related things like Goals experiences with Viva Goals. That said we have some customers I work with today who actually use both so I think both are pretty viable. :) What's great is that customers do have choice today - I hope to see much greater and richer integration over time - especially with how this can more naturally flow into work in the post AI era Copilot infused experiences we are all starting to work with.

    So figma brings no new functions to the table, but you are able to test and preview your content more effective. you still have to add Theme and design elements by hand in SharePoint once you are done testing?

      That is the gist! Wireframing is still faster than doing quick build outs and we find Figma to be helpful here. :)

      It can definitely be overwhelming! I am of the belief that these experiences will continue to blend into one another and you will mainly use a 'hub' tool to do your work in. Today that is Microsoft Teams, tomorrow that could be Copilot chat. Between now and then while it takes work (and effort!) the results of good digital fitness and using more effective tools for certain scenarios are often well worth the cost for a subset of users working through their digital debt. But agreed 100% the last thing any org wants to do is add to more digital debt with a too many tools (especially nonintegrated ones) for the employee experience strategy. :)

    Great information Richard, AI protection for corporations is absolutely necessary. The need to just teach the end users what comes with these Chat solutions that are pouring out at a breakneck speed. It could become big borther-ish if we are not careful. Especially for companies like Google who completely fired their entire ethics department. What an embarrassment and tell tale sign of what is important to them. I would steer clear of Google AI products just because of that reason. I am glad Bing Chat is going to be quite protected.

      I am excited and terrified of the AI wars (such as they are at this stage) for both the implications on individual, employee, company, industry, and society as a whole. Excited because we see a lot of great progress (IMO) regularly on user agency, control and protection and core milestones like a synthetic data event horizon coming closer suggesting a shift in at least some motivation for capturing so much data to train the models themselves, yet terrified of the pace of this change and the risks inherent in it's potential impact. :) But to your point - Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise doesn't add to that fear above. :)

    Nowhere in these reports will you find examples where an EE initiative improved business metrics. Without verifiable examples of companies using EE to improve performance, Microsoft's research shows the same useless data as decades of Gallup studies; neither Microsoft nor Gallup address transformation. The needle has stayed the same despite the exponential growth of EE/EX experts, EE/EX technology, and the ubiquitous focus on HR. The way to look at this is if there were objectively measured and reported examples of companies improving their bottom line through EE/EX initiatives, CEOs and their boards would be all over this. As it is, the preponderance of literature on EE/EX is about static environments at the companies studied. One hint about the research might be that both Microsoft and Gallup are in the employee engagement services business. Unfortunately, the EE/EX services industry is focused like a laser beam on correlation while ignoring causation. Again, if something delivered results, it would be headline news in the business media. Engagement is an enterprise issue; managers and leaders, even officers, are no more engaged than the general employee population. The attached article shows the results from the CEO asking a simple nine-word survey question; a third party reporting to the CEO collected the data and fought the gauntlet of obstructions always present from culture, politics, and siloed groups. Twelve thousand responses were collected on paper forms, so much for the value of technology. chiefexecutive.net/employee-engagement-ceos-actually-listening/

      Hi, we love the passion you bring to our comments. 🙂 However, this report has substantial data and a strong sample size. If you scroll to the bottom of the report page, you'll see the same numbers we added in the video that show exactly who and what was measured. Also, you mentioned it was collected by paper, but it was collected using Glint, now Viva Glint. Also, if you are looking for more specific/concrete examples of how EE/EX impacts organizations, we highly recommend Jacob Morgan's book, "The Employee Experience Advantage."

      @@2toLead Here's the issue, if an EE/EX services provider is selling to HR, the battle is already lost. Neither Microsoft nor any other provider has influence over leaders who are disinterested in change. Glint et al. will have no more impact than all the others, the data isn't the problem. As far as Jacob goes, nowhere in his books nor his TED talks does he give examples of companies that have transitioned EE/EX to the extent business metrics were improved. That's consistent with most, if not all, EE/EX experts. The issue left unaddressed, the elephant in the EE/EX room, is what to do when the data suggests an action and leadership doesn't act. Again, HR nor the vendor can change that. You missed the point in my prior reply, the reference to "paper forms" referred to our approach to EE/EX which uses no technology whatsoever, yet delivers results that do show up in the income statement and are sustainable. Absent CEO involvement, the blocking from disinterested managers and leaders will render all Employee survey tools just that, tools collecting data, not to be conflated with results.

      There are good examples of Employee Experience tied to clearer business outcomes, but not every business uses the same measures (and I agree that many don't measure enough). As an example SBR bank drove customer waiting minutes down as a metric across both CX and EX initiatives which incorporated these kinds of patterns and have shared a ton publically on how that aligns. So business outcomes can be measurably aligned. This doesn't change or address your valid critisicm of survey based approaches to measuring impact and their limitations. These survey aligned results map to valuation which is a metric the shareholders and c level cares about. Similar to SBC with customer wait times a metric the c level cares about. While it's tempting to say EE/EX when successful are a subset or highly aligned with CX that breaks down for many organizations where innovation, patient/student/member results and more are goals instead of just customer related signals. There is value in these signals and many leaders and executives do listen, pivot and invest (perhaps not even the majority - but those who do provide reasoning including data for why they feel it differentiated the success).

      Also don't underestimate org impact from a sub business unit or group adapting change based on these measures, technologies and more. It doesn't always need c level or org wide success to make a meaningful difference. Great points though and more to think about.

      @@RichardHarbridge All of my experience is with EE at the enterprise level. If SRB's efforts aren't identifiable at the income statement level then all they have done is improve their processes, which isn't bad, but it doesn't rise to the level of the hype surrounding this subject. Here are the questions we always get from the CEO. Where have you done this before, what was the process, how long did it take for the results to show up in the financials, what is the CEO's role, what portion of your fees will be based on the financial results(in our case it's 75%)and were the results sustainable? Richard, after 20 years of following the EE/EX hype, I have yet to find any companies willing to base their fees on the results. That's my point of reference. I would enjoy seeing Viva Glint or Gallup for that matter, answer those questions. Cheers, Jim

      The best place to look is at how training vendors, or tech adoption partners structure their programs (like us), the Microsoft Learning paths Microsoft themselves maintain and develop, or sometimes to connect with your own champions/employees to have them help define the program (which is also a great way to increase Viva Learning engagement and distributed ownership that aligns with the whole bring your own learning angle and more that Viva Learning is all about). :)

    The data is the least impactful aspect of employee engagement. Companies have been collecting employee data since 1920, and the needle has yet to move. Until you have a solution to leadership's ambivalence, the data is just that, data. AI will make no difference. Imagine a leadership team that has ignored employee data for years. How likely are they to change because some algorithm says they should. The proof? The tools and experts have grown exponentially for decades, but there has yet to be any indication they have contributed to EE/EX transformations. The entire talent industry is conflating data with results. Neither the vendors nor HR can force change on disinterested leadership? Here's an example of what can happen in ten weeks when a CEO asks a simple 9-word SURVEY question. 12,000 responses were collected on PAPER FORMS by a third party. The third party could challenge blockers up to the CEO's staff meeting. HR was not involved. The company's stock was $18 and is now $90, so how likely will one more scientific high-tech tool make any difference when the data isn't the problem? This isn't a sales pitch; the company has retired. Instead, it's 25 years of experience solving the real employee engagement problem, forcing transparency on leadership. A string cannot be pushed up, and neither can change. The unfortunate part is that the employees know this before collecting data. They've seen it too many times.

    Another fantastic explainer video to help organisations prepare for AI and Copilot. I'd like to know more about how admins will deal with unintentionally shared data turning up in Copilot responses. It's great to hear that Copilot only uses what you have access to. My wondering is how Microsoft will get ahead of this potential issue and provide a way to manage that.

    will companies pay us more for more productivity or we remain with the same salary? or will we be penalized for being skillful? validation work is important, but as we depend more and more on these replacement tools we will lose critical analysis to validate its output. It could give us a convincing lie. The company can look so dumb?

      The idea is to collaborate with AI (humans remain at the center in the near term) so the human is the validation part of the 'work engine' today even in a post Copilot work stream. Hallucinations themselves I think are a solvable problem over time and will become less and less of a risk in every day work (as a mistake has low consequences in some activities, especially with a human able to react and respond). We are seeing (finally) meaningful progress on benchmarking and how we validate output with AI support so there is a lot of potential where AI itself can help here over time (assuming AI Alignment risks are mitigated). There has been mixed evidence based studies so far on job and salary impact. It's definitely something to watch for and definitely worth thinking about and considering.
