Thank for sharing this!❤
@@TankThomas44 You're very welcome, such a fun show needs to be shared!
Amazing!!! Just witnessed the Dallas show!! Dope AF🤘🤘🤘 You won't regret it💯🔥
Amazing! I love this song, the light effects make it even greater. Sarah is so wonderful at 2:08
Thank you! I'll post a few more from the same show shortly. Such a great show, they really have a great presence and sound amazing but she absolutely owns the stage.
@track3190 Thanks a lot! I'll watch them on Feb 28th in Los Angeles. Very excited
Chatoyant? LOL
That even looks heavy! Nice! 🪨💎✨️🩶
The nephrite in Washington is really interesting because it has so many different colors and has frequently been metamorphosed. Thank you so much!
That bassist is killing it. Gary too.
They're all really good and he was totally killing it!
Can’t wait to see them next Tuesday!!!
That's awesome, where are you seeing them? I'd love to see them in Europe on the rest of their tour
@@track3190 gonna see them in Hamburg, Germany ✌️ Venue is called Sporthalle
@@timboslice5351 Have a great time, wish I could see them there too!
They are so goofy ahh
Absolutely they are and they love playing together, it's so obvious
I'm sofa king glad my gigging days ended before the advent of iZombies and their devices. . Looking down to make that connection and get that energy loop going and instead seeing someone staring slack jawed at their screen: Hard. Pass.
They are so good live
They're at their best when they just freelance and jam, they're so tight and my favorite band to see live
Do you still hunt for jade ?
Not as often as I used to, I live in southern California now but still hit the rivers every so often
Loser
Snotsa
Gary is 66 years old. Acts as if he is 36. An amazing man.
He tours all the time and doesn't care if it's a big venue or small. He keeps getting better on stage too, so lucky to have his music. Thank you!
It's actually played on a tiny acoustic slide guitar [Troy], not a synth, that is how it's played, with the ol' noise maker and delay pedal 😬🥺😭
Exactly, there are a couple KCRW videos of him playing this way - thanks for mentioning it my friend. Super rad!
@@track3190 there's a thousand videos of him playing it properly, these are clones/ actors 😭😭😭😭😭
@@track3190 Wealthy men conveniently signing contacts that others might 'step in' if they are unfit to play, death very is unfit to play 😭 brothers with money 😭
I've listened to Qotsa live concert rips the world over for the past 20 years, they were the tightest band on earth 😢
100% agree. Was hoping for Evil Has Landed jam session too.
Actors 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Kyuss going ham
The Electro Goth Godfather
He really is, such a great sound then and now
Foda!
Is it Hollywood or Santa Barbara Bowl??
Ooops sorry it's Santa Barbara
😀🤘 always amazing!!!
Deep cuts and different songs from their 2023 tour, lots of jamming too, such a fun show. I kept getting hammered by someone behind me as I was filming but that's okay they were dancing and having a blast
🤩
The Pixies are Rock & Roll HOF worthy!
They're definitely worthy, inspired so many bands in addition to creating some of the best songs ever. Cheers!
@@track3190 vamos a la playa 🏝️🤘🏽👍🏽
Thank you mach Track for the videos!
You're very welcome! I had great seats but the hardest part was sitting still and recording instead of jumping around.
is the serpentine softer or do you tell by just the color of it?
Serpentine can easily be confused with nephrite when it's a good quality gem serpentine. It is softer usually and with practice you recognize the color differences between the two
@@track3190 do you use a water gravity test? I heard that is the most reliable way to check
what was the water gravity for that stone? was it close to jade? it looks really nice
This is type two fun.. Its the stuff you look back on and have fond memories.. but during the moment it sucks.. Have a fun adventure man
do you hand sand or do you use powertools to sand? i really want to try this with some jade
www.diamondtoolstore.com/products/makita-wet-polisher-pw5001c?variant=39468827345070&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=16365073353&gclid=CjwKCAjwq-WgBhBMEiwAzKSH6LoYHbBoI8ONwuX6gBCHWhJqaH9Eg9JcoQbSM_wkRyMY2tA7w3ISGhoCBscQAvD_BwE
Water-fed polisher is the way to go. Lots of brands on Amazon too but I'm a fan of Makita and the quality of the tool.
How ruff was this before you started polishing it?
It was just like any river stone before polishing began. I use an angle grinder with a diamond cupping wheel to grind off the outer rind to get to the good green color stuff underneath, then polish using a water-fed polisher with diamond resin pads.
Hope you had a successful show!
Thanks! It was pretty good and met some wonderful people. Lots of competition, two other shows were going on at the same time.
Very nice
Thank you very much!
Stunning piece. Cute cat, even though it's not yours.
Thanks, it looks even better when lit too. That kitty comes over every day to watch me polish and ask for treats. She doesn't get along well with my cats but they're making progress. I'm sure she's not a stray, just one of those that chooses multiple parents.
Perfect Name!
Thanks! I kinda does look like the mountain, doesn't it? It was a really challenging sculpt.
Gorgeous Displays, Fantastic Specimens! Hope you sold lots! Wow -- the honey calcite and those selenite columns! @0:57 -- what was that blue-greenish smaller "slipper" specimen?
That bluish one was sodalite from BC. It's a beautiful piece, one of the first to sell.
And thank you, the show has gone really well so far. New digs at the Fairgrounds in Monroe, much more space, and a great crowd.
@@track3190 Someone with very good taste spotted it!
Nice!!
Very dramatic!
It's so amazing, the color is so deep and vibrant
Some gorgeous specimens! That labradorite was spectacular.
The labradorite is beautiful yep, I'm getting ready work on two new ones soon too!
Very creative carving! Really accentuates the lines of the stone.
Thanks, it was a real challenge to get the shape and polish just right. I have another smaller piece that's a beauty too
WOW!! That lavender just shines! Great complementary bowl....stunning!
Thank you! I love the bowl too and they pair up really well.
That looks so much like nephrite too me, lol. Still hunting for my first jade 🤞
It's yet another green rock in an area LOADED with green rocks. This dunite is very easy to recognize in the wild (Nooksack River) because it has a yellow/tan rind and pyroxene (yellow-green) blebs in the matrix. Serpentine tends to have magnetite so it's slightly magnetic. Once you have someone helping you to identify the jade in the field you learn the basics very quickly but even experienced nephrite people ask advice on the frequent tweeners. Happy hunting!
@@track3190 i have understood that serpentine can mix with olivene depending upon the rate the basalt heats up an cools down with aluminum silacates an olivene is somewhat similar to garnets because sometimes olivene chrome diopside an peridot can be magnetic unless there are unusual minerals that make garnets magnetic
@@brandonsuavekilla2612 That's absolutely true Brandon, and thanks for the input. There's a deposit of dunite olivine on the Nooksack River in northwest Washington where I can find the serp/olivine co-mingled. Metamorphic activity can really make interesting versions of the original host rock!
@@track3190 so if olivene an serpentine mix is it serpentinite then or something different cause i may have 30 olivene mix stones an they are all unique having black an green colors some mix of dark an lighter greens
@@brandonsuavekilla2612 Basically you can follow a couple ways to name the rock. For something that is mostly serpentine with a smaller percentage of olivine you'd say it's olivine-rich serpentine or serpentine with olivine. I big quartzite crystal with lines of feldspar would be quartz with feldspar. If there's been some metamorphic activity that happened and swirled and mixed everything together you can simply say it's metamorphosed serpentine and olivine. Hopefully that's clear as mud 😂
Where do you sell this stuff? Any specific websites or company's that buy it? Can you just walk on the river bank and pick this stuff up without permits?
No permit necessary, this is gravel bar stuff here in Washington. I sell through my bunniesonfire_wa1 Instagram account or at shows here in Washington. Next show is in Issaquah next weekend. Hit me up anytime my friend
Ahhhh!
It's pretty nice for a random piece 😀
Oooooooh!*****
Is it calcite or glass? Whatever it is -- it is certainly attractive.
It's glass, I haven't found a good piece of blue calcite that's worth working on. Thanks, it's another bright spot in the room now
super
Thank you very much!
Wow, Jim, great smaller art! Have you got new lapidary equipment? Any more details on the upcoming Rock Show???
Thanks! No lapidary, I turn my 4" polisher on its side and use it like a cab machine. East King County Rock Show is first weekend in March in Issaquah. Largest show in Washington, hope you can make it but understand the ferries have been dicey lately.
@@track3190 You have a good hand and eye to be able to produce such lovely pieces. Yes, the ferries are iffy, to say the least. Good luck and great sales to you at the Show!!
Awesome Stone!
Thank you! It's just loaded with so many garnets.
@@track3190 Stunning!
Is that deer creek in mason county? I work in Shelton
This is in Snohomish County near Oso. I know, so many "Deer Creeks" right? It's well worth a trip for you though, just make sure that there's no flooding so that the gravel bar is exposed. Cheers!
I like that you left the rind on. You know that I'm a sucker for jade. Good work, Jim.
Thank you! The difference is so significant I like to keep some parts natural. This and a piece of aventurine.
