“Farm in context” Context: Massive population concentrated in unsustainable cities. Increasingly unstable climate. Changing farming systems must go along with changing the food system to reduce energy consumption & sequester carbon.
Where can I get the presentation from this video?
Gabe needs to lose weight, that is morbidly obese
There is no reference to the soil food web, a vital component in soil function
Great stuff! Where can I find this slide deck?
Sorry the slide deck is not available.
Desert back to prairie is always amazing to me! #rainfallsimulator
Lots of eye opening demos. Also check out the full #rainfallsimulator
First time listening to Ray, this was brilliant.
I am studying and playing with covers. Dennis
This dude is awesome! I enjoy listening to him.
Wow thank you!
I spot the Ray Archuletta here...
don't sit at the back of the room...lol
बहुत अच्छी जानकारी दी 🎉🙏 thanks
Ray's demos never get old. Watching from Tanzania where we are practically the only no-till/cover crop farmers in our country. We get big downpours but have virtually no run-off.
Hi, it is very interesting, I have not seen evidences of no-till practises there, I have worked in Tanzania recently to help close compliance gaps re to hazardous waste management practises in remotes areas and disseminate low cost and low tech practises to. Could you send link to your results? Ilia
@@ilyarogozhin8630 most obvious is our yields of 9t/ha in dryland situations despite poor seed genetics (compared to the US) whilst country average is less than 2t/ha.
Whats the compost worth to the grower on a per ton basis We compost and have a hard time putting a value on the final compost
Thanks for the video! Ray is awesome! He explains everything very well that you can understand it.
Great presentation Jon
Thank you!
One of those presentations to keep on watching from Gabe
I would be curious what Gabe Brown has to say about lime additions and pumping of manure under the soil.
Willing to bet he says it’s not necessary.
Awesome lecture. Thanks very much!
WOW , on 30 acre farm we sold thousands nightcrawlers for fishing bait, cant imagine a farm wo earthworms.😢
Am now in WNC, starting to put out tiny orchard ! I'm excited !
I enjoy learning more on farming, but to old to start farming at 65. Grew up on small horsedrawn farm equipment, 30 acres including fresh vege rd side stand, w 5 acres tobacco. Later 100 acres ,5 acres handpick tomatoes. At 21 left farm did welding, construction, now semi drvr. ( Farmers ) Thank You.
Lets not be unteachable, stupid.
How much sugar do you use? Does it increase ant population?
Ha! I heard Ray retired! ....if this is retired, then I need a few extra jobs.
Ha, I hear you...We will have Ray in Western, MN July 8-12 www.mnsoilhealth.org/events/2024-07/
Out of respect for very system that yielded the best farmland on the continent. A 60ft strip of native prairie, restored on at least 1 side of every 80 acres, would be admirable.
Well, tillage is a wee bit older than jethros' tenure, he invented the seed drill
Watching from NC
How could i get involved in this? Im local and over the last year or so ive really wanted to get into agronomy, permaculture, and rebuilding our soils. How could i go about getting involved in this or other things like this?
