05/3 22. Only 500 built ? Change of plan by Ford's hierarchy at the time. Was'nt New Edge the theme back then when Ford bought Aston Martin, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover - inter competing brands. You could buy a Ford badged push bike, a 'Dinky' model of your Ford & a Ford logoed watch & other Ford stuff back then ! Head Ford European man then was, (?), Jacques Nasser who bears a remarkable resemblance to Carlos Gohen in many ways. All went well until , until ??, when Detroit became unhappy about Bottom Line figures. All Change !! Handling of the Puma & its cousins should rightly be attributed to the late Richard Parry-Jones who did'nt want Skirts & Spoilers on original Pumas either. Surviving unmolested models about to enter Classic status according to the Motoring Press.
I agree, I am on my 2nd Puma and to be honest the comments the guy made at the start about Pumas being whimpy were far from the truth, great looking, sporty driving machines is what they are

I loved my puma, a great car!!
Yep, I have the 1.7 VCT, I paid £600 and it had 12 months tax. I'm so impressed with the car I would say it the best handling car i have driven
