Great to see 727s at Southend Airport again although a lot quieter than the original ones.

Eurowings A321 departing Southend Airport runway 05 on 1 March 2023. The Eurowings A321 (reg. D-AIDU) was operating flight EW6971 to Dusseldorf. It had been at Southend Airport to have a new livery applied.

Sorry but that's engine noise not howl. The howl is resonance which comes out of the intakes at high power, so you have to be standing in front of the aircraft to hear it, and this vid, lovely though it is, doesn't have the howl.

If ever there was a plane that deserved to fly !

theres video of the b2s coming in to land at brisbane but these old girls are just so graceful till they dump their high explosives etc on your head imagine hundreds taking off night after night

Best airport to fly in and out of. I can park my truck less than 50 yards from the plane. Got lucky last flight parked right in front of the terminal. Here in Kalamazoo we get frequent B-17's and 24 liberators. They buzz my house occasionally knocking pictures off the wall.

Very moving sight, it's hard to imagine that the brave young men that flew them weren't even old enough to hold a driving licence, truly the best of a generation.

In 1960 I was taken by my elder brother to the RAF Gaydon ‘At Home’ air show and three Vulcans did a flight take-off. Even now I can remember the noise and feeling of the ground rumbling like a massive thunder storm - very appropriate for the Vulcan.
