Im pretty sure their quality is on point. I have a few on my cart on Amazon for later. But i wouldn't put expensive light. Maybe some cheaper ones. But i could be wrong. They might hold on well.

Z30 user: Z30 focuses faster and better in low light and contrast. Z30 Tracking Focus is snappier on moving targets, particularly in the people/animal modes including video. using the 16-50mm kit lens. The lens focuses close (8”) Best with 16-50 lens

Actually, EVF’s use more power than the LCD’s. And you need to think of mirrorless in terms of “time on” vs shutter actuations. Generally it’s about 2 hours. You could rip off 1000 shots in 2 minutes and battery would be at 95% still. But shot here, shot there for 2 hours and you might get a couple hundred pics.

Nice video. I just bought one and am learning to use it. I wish that the plate on the bottom was wider to give it more stability. It is too easy to knock over an expensive camera.

how does this work with manual focus? wireless follow focus? And how do you aim the camera when it's resisting all your movements? Do you need a monitor?

Hi there. Can i ask you one question? Will using N-LOG and the free presets help me towards my B&W that i record in. I only have an instagram account where i take pictures of cows and max 5-10 seconds videos of the cows? Am i going a bit far with N-Log and just stick to what im doing. I’m using a Nikon Zf. I’m after coming across all this N-Log stuff and im finding it a bit confusing if im honest. Can anyone guide me if reading this? I dont use and 3th party softwear to edit my videos just the photo app that comes with my iPad or maybe Lightroom but my go to is IPhotos. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪 andrew.

I find that a little extreme. OK in that snow scenario it makes sense but with that profile you run the risk that the later usable dynamic range is just a couple of dozen tone values and that is visible.

bro, your talking head scene looks like you shot it on a potato and edited on a banana. bad lighting(hot spot), bad colors, oversharpened, out of focus frequently.

While this is a great way to get an image with more dynamic range out of the z30, it really shouldn't be refereed to as log, because it isn't. It's just very flat, where as log is applying a known logarithmic curve to the exponential sensor data to encode more dynamic range into a limited format container and then by applying the inverse curve in post it results in a consistent and repeatable return to the original exponentially exposed image, but with additional information in either the highlights, shadows or both depending on how one exposed. While this solution gets one a flatter image with more dynamic range, it's not doing in a logarithmic manner, and there isn't a reverse curve to convert it back to the original baseline. One just plays guessing games.

@ariellac9368 21 hours ago (edited) I want to buy the Z30 for all the reasons mentioned here except my biggest concern in 4K video overheating at 30 mins ( there is a lot on the internet about this). Have you had this experience?I have been told to get an external power delivery battery and even a fan . If you have any suggestions for someone who loves all the Z30 features except this overheating as my goal is great stills and long 4K video.. and the compact. and budget price.. Please offer any suggestions! I am not a technical person and every time i go searching for answers i go down a rabbit hole of choices and opinions on the internet. Another question mark is stability when shooting video while moving without gimbel. Where you using a gimbel on this video? Thank you!!
