Kerosene heater mix Run a torpedo heater on Diesel and gasoline
I run my spark ignition salamander torpedo heater on a 2:1 mix of # 2 Diesel and Gasoline .. I do not except responsibility for anyone doing this, it is just an experiment, proceed at you OWN RISK. I do NOT recommend ANYONE EVER doing anything this dangerous so you must always read the labels and trust your gubbernmint :)

Hi from 2024❤, Im From Uzbekistan. MY name is Omadbek Surbmname Abduqaxxorov
The same effect is had by using a tin coffee can or smaller can like a 30 oz. tomato sauce can and a regular bucket like one you buy from Home Depot or Lowe's. I have made a coffee can fly over 50 feet with one firecracker, and because the bucket is wider, there is no possibility of error like the cans rubbing together at launch like what was cautioned here. I never did try it with more common sized tin cans or soup cans, but I am guessing it would work as well. I never thought to try it with aluminum cans, but rather use to impress me by laying those on their sides, crushing it, and sticking a firecracker inside and blowing the can back out to its cylindrical shape, while usually lifting it off the ground a few feet, and sometimes ripping the can open. Yes, just regular firecrackers.
I was stranded 3 hours from home @ a road side rest. I poured a can of coke (I had to buy if out of the vending machine) on top of the injector pump and it started right up. The cooling action works long enough for it to start and as long as I don't shut if off it runs fine, if the engine is hot it won't start but will start if the engine cools off for a few hours. I had no idea it was cooling a coil.
My rack solenoid almost caught fire before the coil broke. I had zero options
No no
Why why???😅
Can i run diesel on kerosene heater with a wick
How to time a mechanical injection pump of a 6.9 international ford
great heaters, no electricity , no fan just plenty of heat had one in a big workshop in the 80s.
Rooster piss is what we run up in Northern California it’s diesel fuel that somebody has added gasoline to by accident we drain it and keep it for Fuel for heaters. We don’t really have a way to know what the exact mix is but have not ever had an issue
Epic
There is really no need to run any kind of gas in one of those heaters. You may want to add some kind of diesel fuel additive like you would for a truck to keep the injectors clean or keep the fuel from jelling up in cold weather (or Seafoam which is what I use) If the pump is adjusted right, they will run clean on diesel with now smoke or smell. Been running diesel in my 80,000 BTU kerosene heater for years with no problems at all. Keep your filters changed and clean the unit every year and they will run forever.
Interesting, what part of the country are you living in? Mine uses a spark plug and has no injectors....it does have an air pump and a Venturi type of nozzle. It fires right up when it's warmer but don't do so well in the extreme cold that we get here.
It's hard to think to pinch a fuel line or block off air intake in the moment on a runaway diesel. 😬 Thanks for the video 👍
hey dude you just discovered old knowledge it's like archeology for you LOL
You can afford brand new tools to work with but can't afford a store-bought lug terminal.
Read below... I suspect you drive 5 minutes to the parts store??. Also went to bolt lug style batteries.
I have been running my 80,000 BTU kerosene heater on #2 pump diesel and never had to add any kind of additive, especially GAS. My old one with the old spark plug igniter ran on straight pump diesel and started up just fine with no kind of additive in the fuel. Maybe your pump if out of adjustment. Most people don't even know you can adjust the pump to make it burn clean. They just run them on the factory setting and wonder what's wrong!
What state are you in??
i dont think my chunker can pull like waynes does but im happy it can lop 2x4 material just fine since that makes up most of my gassifier fuel
You were scared shitless just before start up . And if it did RUNAWAY put something over the intake to choke the AIR OFF and it will shut down .
5th gear clutch dump for the win... LoL
Theoretically, you could have a pump shop put in an agriculture style manual shutoff. Like using a choke cable to shut off engine. Then, if you had a manual trans, you could pull start it, and not even need an electrical system. Just saying.
I run Agro diesel and Pump deisel in these exclusively, all of mine are arc-start and never seem to have a problem starting. I have PSI gages on all of mine and tuned-up my older ones to run at the meduim-high end on pressure. My new ones specifically say they can run diesel but the older ones say kerosene only. I think unoffically all of them can run diesel even if they don't say so. I've never tried gas though, and my reasoning is that there is a possibility fire could run back on vent cap fumes and blow the tank. Also when shut off, there's not really a purge for these and gas will continue burning without atomization. It would be nice if someone designed one for gas though, as 0.6 gal/hr is significant diesel consumption.
What a mess
LOLOLOLOL !!! That's pretty open ended... Show us what you've got
Farmers and loggers up North here have been using this gas thinning trick for a long time. When its dark, - 40f and your log skidder or farm tractor is gelled up and the nearest auto parts is 1.5 hrs away, you do what you have to do.
I have flames blowing out of mine now. So is that too much diesel or too much gas? 🤷🏻♂️
psi is to high try turning pump down lil bit
I have a problem it supptered and died now it won’t start but will crank over
Is your reference to pre 94 International engines?
I use to work at a concrete plant and the boss had one and he used diesel and he put in a 2x4 to keep the fire from going out , it was so hot it was glowing red hot and you had to stand ten feet away from it because it would burn your eyes from the heat it put out .
Good times, good heat. Did you ever cook on it?
Is the part on the right side of the pump called a plunger or a fuel governor?
Not even sure...
@@KB8OOE Thanks for your response - I just found out that it is called a cold idle advance/fast idle solenoid. I'd really like to know where I could locate the plug-in wire connector on the side of the injector pump.
@@KB8OOE gukhgf@34578
The fitting coming out of the cover is the return fuel fitting. It is like a check valve. It lets fuel escape, while maintains 8 to 12 psi in the pump. That pressure relates to advance and retarding the pump timing. That little plunger is activated with cold engine. It opens that check valve all the way, so no pump psi. This retards the timing, and is an aid to cold starting.it works off the coolant temp sender. Which also energizes the fast idle solinoid.
Does Terry have a youtube channel?
Not sure
What are we learning here?
Check your return line off of the IP, for having that much fuel. you may have a bad line or blocked return line. Very good video though.
Im doing this on my truck does it hook to anything in there
Great video, I gave it a like. But you forgot to tell us the truck was buried for 25 years before you dug it up.
I'd have had to have lied. Truck was 20 yrs old when this video was made. Chuckle. Thanks for the comment and have a great day :)
Had to wedge my solenoid a few weeks ago. My trucks an automatic , I had to remove the air cleaner housing and use my clipboard to block of the intake air. I learned that method on a turbo Perkins 2 stroker when the oil seal on the turbo failed to the intake side bearing and started feeding oil to the cylinders. Fist time I ever been next to an oil burner runaway. That little Perkins must had topped at 5000 rpm's. Scary shit that was. engine never ran right after that.
Ha. Very interesting 🤔
Thank you,for burning hydrogen
I guess blowing stuff up has no age
Hey weird question, was this filmed in Akron Michigan? I'm from there and the red building and blue house look familiar
Lol yup
@@KB8OOE well damn small world lol
A guy I know just burned his house down with one of those
Lol.. I don't recomend any open flame/non vented heater in ANY house
lots of people have burned their house down with matches, lighters... sorry did you have a point?
It would not start outdoors in minus -18 degrees Celsius. I blocked the air intake and it started, and run fine. That's how I run with a choke plate at the air intake!
Hi there, I've been burning old bad gas from small engines mixed with used motor oil. I would guess 10 to 1 gas oil mix. It runs and heats up fine.
LIKE HANK SAID...AIN`T MUCH A COUNTRY BOY CAN`T DO.....GREAT JOB
I bet strong connection good old fashioned engineering
A little bit sloppy but fucking great ideal
It's horrible sloppy !! Lol. They're still working though ;)
What does it mean when you send a picture and the runtime error 384 comes up and says a form cant be moved while minimizing or maximizing the radio send the picture but no one can rercieve it and it don't come up on digisites Help please WV8KJ
Not sure. Been a while
Run waste vegetable oil ... Fume problem solved! Also... if piped outside ventilation is not an option (during garage use) it would not be terribly difficult to add/fabricate a wheeled drum dolly and wheel the unit outdoors during shut down...
Our neighbor used one for years in his garage for his small auto repair business, that heater was the most efficient / hi output heater he ever had.
HOW Do I know if the ignition switch or solenoid is the cause of engine not shutting down when I turn key off?
Just pull the connector off the pump. If it stays running, it’s the shutoff solenoid.
pour man gotta do what a pour man gotta do nothing wrong here it works not to bad a job either
Yeah, thankfully i had installed a ball valve inline before thee filter 'cause My actuator lever got bent and slid into the wrong position Behind the shut off valve and she went WOT! Still took a 30 seconds to run out of fuel & shutdown, but did save the engine. I now "JUMPER WIRES" (+ & - ) the solenoid, BEFORE dropping down /sliding forward the Dome on the IP and then pop all the Injector lines lose enough "it wont" start" and completely release #1 fuel line injector side, so i can see if it is pumping fuel & shutting off , using a jumper wire & remote start button to the Starter relay. Turn it over while fuel solenoid is jumped "Pops fuel" take jump off "No fuel" GOOD TO GO! I don't EVERrrrr want to hear my engine do that again.. thought I was gonna cry as i had it my head WOT was certain engine death.
Wondering what the neighbors thought when your truck was WOT! 😁😆
America!
how i can bay this engine ??
