While this channel started out as a pure private/family project, I have since taken to share fancam footage I shot during live concerts. Fancam has been a source of many hours of entertainment and sometime knowledge for me, and I feel that I should give something back.
Right now the footage I share is normally not edited or cut, but rather published as shot. Together with the artists I try to capture the atmosphere and the live experience.
This channel will never be monetised. As I see it, I am not taking away anything from the artists featured here but rather promoting them and live music in general. Should you be an artist shown in one of my videos and unable to share my views on this matter, please contact me and we will sort it out.

Sascha Kommer - I'm flying high - live at the Luxor, Cologne 2024-10-11
Sascha was The Bygones' support act in Cologne and to my understanding also at the other three German concerts on their 2024 tour. Here he performs "I'm flying high", according to his introduction a song dating back to the 1920s. Totally unknown to me until that evening, his musical passion are American songs of the 1920s up until the early Rock 'n' Roll age. German listeners will probably see ...

Allison Young and Joshua Lee Turner, collectively known as The Bygones, perform a piece from their 2022 EP "May 9-12" at the Luxor, Cologne. I had at that point already put away my phone to focus on enjoying the concert. But as I am a (very modest) ukulelist myself, I couldn't resist recording again once I realised that this would be the next song. I strongly recommend seeing them live if you c...
The Bygones - If you wanted to - live at the Luxor, Cologne 2024-10-11
Allison Young and Joshua Lee Turner perform the beautiful and slightly haunting "If you wanted to", the last song on their selftitled debut album. It was the fourth song on their setlist that evening. During the song, some of the couples in my vicinity moved in closer and went into hugging mode :-) . The Bygones delighted the audience that evening. I strongly recommend buying a ticket when you ...

The Bygones (Allison Young and Joshua Lee Turner) opening their concert at the Luxor in Cologne with two songs of their selftitled debut album. Two musicians that absolutely know what they are doing and obviously enjoy beeing on stage together. This turned out to be the start of a delightful performance in a nice and intimate venue. At times, my phone was struggeling with the light or rather th...
Atarashii Gakko! - Toryanse, Omakase, GiriGiri - live in Cologne 2024-06-07.
It was Atarashii Gakko's very first gig in Germany. There was no support band, no pre show warm up to speak of, except the smoke machine kicking in ten minutes before. And yet, the 1300 venue was not only sold out, but erupted once Atarashii Gakko took to the stage. I shot the first three songs and then put my phone away to clap my hands and ride the groove. One hour later, I was slightly exhau...

The wonderful Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain performs the hit originally recorded by U.S. band Wheatus. This is the third and last video I shot that evening. But when I realized that they were about to play one of my favourites out of their repertoire, I couldn't resist. Lead v...
Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - Dick Barton, Special Agent - Lünen, Germany, 2024-01-23

The wonderful Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain open their show in Lünen with this tune. According to Wikipedia, "Dick Barton, Special Agent" was a BBC radio thriller series from around 1950. I assume this is the signature melody. Two other videos from the same concert are also on this channel. I do recommend seeing them live; it's a great experience. Lots of good music and British humor. #uku...

The wonderful Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain plays a piece of classic British punk from the late 70s. Sorry I couldn't keep silent all the way, but this rendition was just too catchy. Two other videos from the same concert are also on this channel. Seeing them live is definitely an experience. #ukulele #ukuleleorchestra #ukuleleorchestraofgreatbritain #therezillos #rezillos #goodsculptures
I don't know what I love more - that song, or that they played through the audience's attempt to clap along.
@@rcb3921 🤓♥️
I've notice that for a lot of touring American musician videos, Europeans tend to clap along. Especially with bluegrass. As a bass player, I have mixed feelings about that. I'm glad the audience likes my groove but the audience messes up my groove.
Talent bis in den letzten Blutstropfen....

Yes, it was!
Thank you. When I saw "Glad" listed I wondered if an acoustic duo rendition would hold up against the lush production for the album. Thumbs up!
@@kirkvoelcker5272 With "Glad" being one of my favourite tracks on the album, my thoughts were the same. But the way they use vocals as a substitute for some of the production work on the album version is actually quite beautiful. Cheers!

super pretty voices. funny intro song.🙂
@@Chris_Porro I agree with both statements! 👍 On the voices specifically, for me it's not just that each of them is a good singer. The way they join and harmonize is something we have not heard a lot in the past couple of decades.
I feel like I'm listening to a Pixar soundtrack. Have you reached out to them?

@@jeffm5808 Enjoy! They are great entertainment.
Thank you Ralf for your posting of the performance by the Bygones. Their youtube recording of the Beatles' "Honey Pie" first caught my attention, as the simple performance in an outdoor lawn is wonderful.
Thank you for your kind words. A pleasure! When they played "Honey Pie" that evening, the audience at least partly went into singalong mode.
Ralf, hast du zufällig noch weitere Lieder aufgenommen? (Ausser den 3en hier, meine ich.) Meine 3 Lieblingsstücke des Abends waren "Asteroid Day", "Shadows on the Wall", und "Hollow Wood".
They are so cute performing together and bring such delight to my day.

Thank you for filming ! You had a great spot 😊
@@whitewaltersbet4872 A pleasure, and thanks for the compliment. I had a slightly elevated position at the end of the bar. This gave me a good view, but the drink sales activities behind me contributed to the background noise on the recording. Greetings from the Ruhr!

@@uwevonderlieck9673 Punk in jedem Fall.

A pleasure. It was my first concert at this venue. While certainly not a small club, it is still kind of intimate. Towards the end, Suzuka performed parts of one song standing on the bar situated along the left hand wall, which brought her about 5 to 6m close to me. And she was considerate enough to take her shoes off before standing on a surface normally used to sell drinks. 😘👍
@@ralfklonowski3740 nice story 😁 looks like she always wants to give energy to everyone, going to the backside, upside ✊✊✊
@@legna333mkn They all engaged with the audience as much as possible, establishing eye contact etc. Suzuka stepped onto the barrier rails twice and performed from there, grabbing on hand from the audience for support.
Hidden talent. Soo good. Thank you. Evansville Indiana. USA
Hidden in the sense that they cater for a niche market, certainly. But inside that niche they are surprisingly big over here, making a living out of their music since the 80s and once selling out the Royal Albert Hall in London. They tour Germany almost every year.
