It’s interesting how the author weaves the titles of Charley’s popular songs into such beautiful lyrics that pays tribute to a singer we all loved. Hope you like it. Thank you for subscribing to the channel. We are keeping traditional country music alive.

Charlie Pride was wonderful!! He sang songs that made you happy, or made you cry. He made you believe it was very real. It was. Snakes Crawl at Night, and Mississippi Cotton Pickin Delta Town, are my favorites.

I always love country music I may not know much about Mr Charley Pride,I have heard about Jim Reeves, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash,Dolly Parton they are icons in country music. I just love Mr Charley singing voice note very smooth and mellow,my favorite song "someone loves you honey", I didn't know that he was the original singer,i heard a reggae version of this same song from a different artist he will be surely missed in the country music, may he sleep peacefully in heaven.

I am German, and therefore not overly familiar with American country music. But a well known German band who played country music wrote a song in the 1970s about the music they loved and their dismay that German radio stations didn’t broadcast a lot of country music. This are the lyrics of that song: "Ich möcht so gern Dave Dudley hörn, Hank Snow und Charley Pride!" - in English:"I would love to listen to Dave Dudley, Hank Snow and Charley Pride!" The song is a catchy ear worm, and most Germans are familiar with that song. Therefore they know Charley Pride's name and that he was a well known country musician. But most of them will not be aware that he was black! I certainly didn't know that! Does it even matter? Well, it doesn't make his songs better or worse. But Charley Pride must've struggled with many more obstacles than other artists. Great that he made it anyway!

Charlie lived in Montana in the late 60s. Forsyth was a Wonderful concert . I believe this was in the 90s. He was a good man.

Glad I watched this. I did not realize he had so many well crafted hit songs. And, let me add this fact, Mr. Marty Stuart is such a classy man. Every time he talks about his musical peer, he calls him Mr. Charlie Pride. Mr. Stuart and Dolly Parton have ALWAYS taught me social lessons EVERY TIME I hear them sharing about life. Thank you to Mr. Pride for sharing your gift, and thank you to you, Mr. Marty Stuart, for your shared respect towards all people.❤

Yes I loved Charlie Pride and I didn't know many singers were black it doesn't have to do with the color of one's skin. God didn't come to save skin. He came to save souls. He made all the colors of skin and all the colors of every color that our eyes can see. Doesn't matter the color of your skin.

I grew up in the country small town, we could only get the AM station which told the local news & played all the country greats. One was Charley Pride. I'm glad he had the courage to use his talent- to me there's no one like him! " You've got to ,kiss an angel good morning, let her know you think abt her when your gone & love her like the devil when you get back home!" Ain't it the truth?! ;)
