Hey GIS Veritas
Neighbouring countries have many huge rivers. Large amount of sand deposit creates shallow rivers and chokes up rivers which cause perennial floods that destroy houses and farms, and even cost lives. The sand deposit creates hardship for the people. By turning this natural nuisance called sand, they can judiciously remove the sand and turn it into a valuable product that other countries are willing to buy. They not only remove the hazards of flood and save lives and properties but also create wealth. If Singapore has so much sand, it would be most willing to sell and create more wealth for its people.
Sand singapore dig from neigborh (indonesia) is from sea sediment not from river lol so there is no correlation with flood. Even sand on sea needed for coral sea to trive
@@nak.lanang Aiyah, Indonesia not the only country which has sand - river and sea. We are talking about big rivers in Vietnam, Cambodia or Myanmar. Even Malaysia. Riau also has big rivers in mainland Sumatra. You don't know, meh? These countries are earning big money by selling sand other local products to Singapore to develop their economy and to improve the livelihood of the people. Singapore sources sand, chickens and vegetables etc etc from many countries. Fact check : Singapore doesn't dig sand from Indonesia! The Indonesians dig sand themselves and sell to Singapore. Buying pigs from Indonesian Bulan island and vegetable from Batam does not mean Singapore rear pigs or grow vegetables in Indonesia! Indonesia buys iphones from USA or China does not mean Indonesia assembles phones!
@@nak.lanang This is a true story. One day I saw Indonesians collecting stones and sand from a river by the lorries. I asked them whether they need licences or permission to collect them. They said no need. I asked what if the sand and pebbles run out or depleted. They said, don't worry the volcanoes will erupt again and deposit more rocks and sand. Thank God. I am convinced that Indonesians are smart.
