A beautiful thought put across so well! Well done Nikita!
Time for bigger glassess Gramps!
was hopping fall on top of him
Why would you hope for that?! Wtf is wrong with you?
Thats the mentality. These days....@seanyB223
If only he knew how hard the company hit the redo button over these years, choosing money over inovation
We can only wonder if Jobs were still around, what new breakthroughs he’d be surprising us with, rather than Apple opting for these typical redo moves.
He's wrong! There's tons of software for old Apple's. Ben eater built one from scratch i believe. Like making every single logic system and everything.
Unfortunately, one of the biggest issues today is the intentional effort to make products obsolete just to sell the next shiny version.
Jobs talking about how the work of others changed the world
True, only at his level of impact do you gain a broader perspective on others and a deeper appreciation for everything around you!
The great Con of Jobs. He didn't design anything. That was Woz and the real engineers. He didn't envision the future. Futurists had been saying the exact same thing since the 50s. His skill was taking other people's ideas, combining them into a mid-level project, put a shiny gimmick to distract, and sell it for top dollar. All while tricking buyers into feel privileged about being taken advantage of.
True, Woz and engineers were key in creating the tech, but Jobs had a rare ability to take those innovations and turn them into products the world didn’t know it *wanted* or *needed* . It’s often about NOT just *KNOWING* what to do, but the inner drive to *DOING* what you already *know* ! *Bias for action* : one of Amazon’s leadership principles. Ps. I used one of Jobs’ less successful products, the NeXT terminal, during my first year in a Software Engineering module. It was a bit of overkill, trying to modernize the concept of a dumb terminal, but still an interesting experience!
... Until you stand back and behold the mountain you've created
Mountain indeed! More like a whole continent size mountain 🫡
And this from a guy who changed the world!
Exactly! It’s humble coming from the man made millions of none geek now have access to online information, shaping the world long after his innovations.
and exploited so many ppl!
@@Mogg_Fanatic There's definitely a debate about the ethical side of tech production. Do you think it's possible for big tech companies to balance innovation and fair treatment of workers?
My comment was aimed towards the manufacturing process (child labour) and the aftermath of the extraction of raw materials. However no, I don't believe it's possible for big tech companies to balance innovation and fair treatment of workers without any intervenience of govermental entities. So while a hypocritical consumer myself, I don't idolize Big tech CEO's. People that do irk me a little bit hence the comment!
LOL, fair point! For sure life’s a balance between holding on to what we need and letting go of things that might not align with our values.
Sometimes, you look back......but at the end of everything......its good to let go........and leave nothing......
That's a powerful thought. Do you think letting go applies to tech too, or do innovations leave a lasting impact even if we don't always notice?
Steve Jobs believed Apple’s creations would be obsolete in 10 years just like many tech innovations. Why do you think inventors and breakthroughs in tech are so quickly forgotten?
Because tech is rapidly changing and a lot of newer innovations use their own engines and code instead of relying on the innovations of the past
It's ironic, some of the biggest breakthroughs in tech are so small and invisible that they’re easily forgotten. Unlike massive monuments or inventions of the past, their very success in being compact and efficient makes them vanish from our minds. Out of sight, out of mind!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to meet your parents as children? This poem invites us to explore that tender possibility, reminding us that even our parents were once vulnerable and full of dreams. How might you comfort the child they once were? What a beautiful reflection 🥹
