The Flat Head is a brand I resent. They don't make things my size. My chest is 50 inches, my shoulders are 25 inches across, my arms are 17.5 inches around, and I have a 33-inch waist. Needless to say, I struggle with buying shirts. I've actually given up with ordering. Athletic cut is V cut but for tiny arms. I'm not trying to flex, so i hate tiny arm holes. Most others fit like a bell. I have found some I like, but I've tried on hundreds to end up with 2 short sleeve. I know I need to lose a little off the gut, but I'm 48 years old. Probably not gonna happen. Lol

Great looking shirt. I struggle with IH sizing because I've got really broad shoulders. I have an XL flannel and an XXL denim shirt and both feel tight around the shoulders. I know it's a Japanese thing but I love the fit on my UES flannel (size 4, which is their XL). Anyway, great shirt. Looks good on you

Congrats on a great piece. I live in my IH CPOs and this one is lighter than most---like you said good for a cool night. (The Shasiko and heavy denim versions are just as fantastic.) I think it unlikely you'll see considerable fading, only as much as comes from the softening with wear and wash. I know it's not supposed to shrink but I'd say cold wash (wear it long enough) and a line dry---and of course you know that. Enjoy!

If you like black , i think Truman black oil roughout u will love and its a solid boot not like the sleek dressy indys

Love ur videos , i own the 405 calf leather indy. The boots in this video would be a pss for me just because i can plainly see that the boot has like 90% rubber sole and 10 % leather and yet Alden still charge same price as there other boots. It looks to soft meaning about a year or 2 with constant wear , the structure wont hold up same as a boot that has a thicker leather sole , and thise boots certainly dont have a thicker leather sole.

Do these run true to size?

Nice review. If you want an alternative in black Freenote Cloth makes a garage style short sleeve in black called the dayton obsidian. The fabric is like 8oz but it is short sleeve and it has cool looking metal buttons

Question, have you kept the IH tag on the chest pocket? For me, I quickly take a seam ripper to it but not sure if that would leave any visible marks/stitching holes.

Personally, I don't feel there is enough talk about black tees. Everyone always wants to talk about the 'best' white tees. I think we can all agree, black tees look way better.😆🤘

their lightweight tees are also worth considering, very nice springy fabric. the 1950s cut is also a bit out of the ordinary and interesting in that regard. the made in germany sweatshirts too, of course

The Merz stuff is terrible! Totally not worth the cost. Ironheart all day BUT for something you can wear and wash and get dirty and don’t care shirt is actually a hanes beefy tee it’s 3 for $15 all day and it makes you question t shirts in general. 6oz and 100% American cotton. Try it you won’t believe it. You will be a large in this shirt.

I do have the 7oz fatigue s/s shirt and 5oz western s/s shirt from Iron Heart. The choice of lighter summer colors and lighter fabric at the same price was why i passed. Not the same color or fabric i ended up getting the 60/40 Solid Oxford Cloth Utility Shirt from Randy's Garments.

Thought about picking this up but I’m with you, I’d like to see a darker color. Even like a charcoal or something, doesn’t have to be completely black. Also your clothing reviews are probably the best on TH-cam in this niche area, please keep them coming! I may be biased though because I also mostly wear black 🤷‍♂️

That leather gives the boots a whole different look compared to what I'm used to seeing. Really nice.

I notice the sole on my new pair isn’t flat. The middle touches the ground and the sides kind of warp up. So when I’m standing I can somewhat cradle or rock side to side. Is yours like that? I’m wondering if mine is a defect or if it’ll flatten out eventually?

I've owned a couple different Alden shoes, but my first Indy pair was this year, the Snake Oil Provisions collab brown ones. I was worried about spending what I did for them because of the shit talking online about their construction, but I can say without a doubt that they're far more comfortable than boots twice their asking price. The only thing more comfortable are boots in a big chunky wedge sole, but that's not always a look that I'm after.
