5W40 und 10w40 sind halt besser eindeutig zusehen und kein Vergleich zu der dünnen Plörre 0w20

I use diesel oil in my old RV with a 454 per my mechanic friend. It's not a stop and go beast so it makes sense.
Used according to different operating conditions. None is good or bad.

This is called visco meter. It is used for measuring viscosity of fluid. In advance one there are sensor at top and bottom. The time it requires from reaching top to bottom defines its viscosity.

Add 1 litre or transformer oil in 5 litres of engine oil it may run smoothly in cold weather -degrees.
The first number is the winter number. Higher numbers are more suitable for colder climates. This is so the oil doesn’t turn into gel. Second number is the oil viscosity at working temp 100 degrees C. This test is slightly shows the difference between the oils on startup when everything is cold. The part I don’t understand is why different oils are recommended in the same climate. If your 90s car ran 10W40 and you haven’t moved to a warmer country why you modern car will now use 0W30 or 0W20 for the latest. 0W20 is for the GPF cars as it creates less soot to clog up the particulate filter. Can someone explain why the cold climate coefficients have changed. I doubt it’s the global warming. Because the average temperature hast risen enough to make that difference.

Look on the oil cap or owners manual. It'll tell you which to use and you should use whats recommended.

Definitely 5w-30 looks like the sweet spot. That's probably why a lot of engines from cars between 2000 and 2014 have survived above 200k miles.
No car should be using 0w20. That is crap oil. Anyone says otherwise is ignorant.

0w20 Normal viscosity - heat=high viscosity 5w30 Slightly viscosity-heat=moderate viscosity 5w40 Low viscosity -heat=slightly viscosity 10w40 Lower viscosity-heat=normal viscosity
My lada works only with 20w50
