BAGGING A MUNRO and COOKING (burning) my lunch up it 🔥🍔⛰️ Hiking in Scotland 🏴
I attempted to cook my lunch up one of the busiest mountains I've ever climbed (and ended up burning my food and my pans) 😂

I WALKED my bike up a Mountain?! 🚵♂️ Mountain Biking in Scotland 🏴
มุมมอง 572หลายเดือนก่อน
Bit of a different one this week! I decided to try out some of the MTB routes nearby, except Garmin Connect pulled one on me and created a route that meant going on an inaccessible footpath 😆 I had to change route part way through and ended up pretty shattered by the end! Hope you enjoy watching! AllTrails route (that I ended up doing, not the planned one) www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/scotland...

My FIRST EVER time Wild Camping 🏕️ Solo Female Camping in Scotland🚶🏼♀️🏴
มุมมอง 39K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
My first ever time wild camping! And while I realise I left it as a bit of a mystery at the end, I did really love it. I can't wait for the next time! (which will have to be once I get a tent that's actually waterproof...) p.s. is there anything better than the sound of rain on a tent?? My FIRST EVER SOLO Hike - Beinn Each, Scotland
มุมมอง 2.1K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
My first ever wild camping video will be up next week! 🏕️ (This will be the second of many firsts this summer!) Beinn Each is a great hike for doing solo, and took me around 3 hours in total (including stops). I would recommend it for a summer hike as there are some steep sections and the reviews all say the path is pretty hard to follow in winter. This is a great one for views of Stuc A’Chroin...

We DEFINITELY needed Crampons! 🗻 Climbing Ben Vorlich, Scotland Hiking 🏴
มุมมอง 3893 หลายเดือนก่อน
Ever since we moved to Scotland, I've been itching to climb Ben Vorlich! Standing at 985 meters, it’s not the safest mountain to tackle in winter, so we waited for the first sunny day at the end of March to make our ascent. Without our own crampons, reaching the top was quite an adventure. If you're planning to climb between autumn and spring, I highly recommend bringing crampons, as the north-...
Hiking up the Cobbler ⛰️ My favourite hike in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs 🏴
มุมมอง 4403 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Cobbler, one of the most iconic peaks in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, is a must-do hike. While not a Munro, it definitely has the feel of one and is just as famous as some of the higher peaks. The climb is challenging, but the amazing views make it totally worth it. At the top, you'll find a cool rock formation called 'The Eye,' where many adventurous hikers climb for an exh...

Guide to Ride London: My 2023 Experience!
Hi Sophie, great video. You do not need yo spend a fortune to enjoy wild camping. However you can save weight without spending lots. I would recommend a water filter like a katadyn befree, for when you know you will be near a water source. Each litre of water weighs a kilo.
Thank you for sharing. Very beautful. It's a pitty, it is not part of the Rob Roy Way. Would have been a perfect section.
this is NOT A SOUVALI WRAP
Really enjoyed this video, also just watched the one of your first solo wild camp. Congratulations on the great content in your vids, I am from Carlisle and often go over the border up to Scotland. Great scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Might I recommend you have a reasonable grasp of map and compass for Scottish Hills. The weather is ever u predictable.
Wonderful location!
Nice trip Sophie. Try using coconut oil instead of the spray as it does not burn so bad, also put pan upside down as I good wind guard and nice griddle
Just above my home; I live down in Crieff. I was up there in February in the snow (you had better weather 😃). I can recommend Ben Vorlich as another one nearby for great views; though admittedly the Loch Lomond Ben Vorlich is an easier ascent...
Really impressed you did this being new to trail riding and love that you included a couple of intermissions for refuelling with a lunch break and a cheeky snack on the move :)
Well done; great hill for one of your first Munros. Very sophisticated coffee - Americano on the hill! One piece of advise - alway bring a hat, even in Scottish summer. Thanks for sharing the video.
Looks great🎉
Well done great wee camping video. You handled it brilliantly.
At least you got out in nature! I'm proud of you. Thanks for showing me a little bit of your woods and water. 😊😊
Great video, well done. You could use a stick or hiking pole to turn your door into an awning, that would help with the rain and give you extra shelter or shade.
What are midges?
Well done.... it takes time to turn what kit to hump around. I'd lose the electric tooth brush!! Great wee video and awesome views.
Remember next time.. there are many spirits of bygone ages.. The betrayed clansman who walks these Glens seeking revenge on those who sleep uninvited in his lands..
Great video Sophie well done 👏
'wild' camping lol
Brilliant doing solo camp I've been camping but never on my own well done to you
Midges are going to love you! Along with the cleggs. Brave girl 👏👏
He definitely likes the sound of his own voice.
Congratz on the first wild camp, try higher up next. i dont know why but i always sleep better higher up. Unfortunately the down side to improve your sleep and experience and weight of bag is more expensive gear. Light weight but good quality gear will make the journey better. Just acquire over time or buy second hand. Try the outdoor shops in the local areas. so much competition that there is always a huge sale on somewhere haha! Smashed it though mate and the cooking was top notch! Keep it up, the views get even better.
Wild camping is just normal pretty much just camping to me.
If anyone else is tempted to buy a little pump or just blow it up - your breath has water vapour in it. It can easily lead to mould on the inside of your sleeping pad
Your lovely wish you was my girlfriend. I am female just lovely chilled video x
Your lovely. And nice relaxed channel..be watching again. Be my girlfriend haha x
Thanks for another great video fantastic views as always.. I think I would prefer the ride down it looked much more fun than the slog up ❤❤❤
I did the Glen Finglas loop a couple of weeks ago and can confirm it's a tough climb up to the top. Well done 👍
👍🏻👍🏻🏴
Nice video but you should use gloves, if you fall off you put your hands out and they take a lot of damage on the gravel or my case road.
Great advice for anyone who cycle's ❤
At 63 I wild camped last weekend off the back of a motorbike, near Glenshee. At 1200ft up, it was a cold night, and I was lucky to catch an infrequent breeze to take the midges away for a few seconds relief. But I kept my helmet on! I use Autan bug spray, and it stop s them biting. They still drive me insane though. One wee tip; midges love black clothing. Wear white and leave a black bag or something a few yards away, and see the difference! Oh, and I rely on chocolate, mixed fruit and nuts, and am confident in drinking water from small burns, and rivers and even the lochs, as long as there’s not a town upstream. Go for a wild swim instead of a shower!?
You really, really don't have to worry about needing to filter water - as long as the water is from a burn or loch away from arable farms it will be fine. So many folks get caught up in the fearbased thinking of needing to filter water in case they get a disease or illness... I & all wild campers/hikers I know always drink straight from the burns or waterfalls. Never been ill after 30yrs+ doing the same. Commercial companies sell all kinds of filter gizmo's to make money out folks... Totally unnecessary imo, the only areas I would not drink 'wild au fresco' h2o would be lowland areas with fields of crops which have had chemicals sprayed onto them or fertilizers ploughed into the soils... Water is heavy - no need to carry it in when its all around you 👍
I keep it to the bearest minimal ..tent , sleeping bag , food and water , lighters , phone , ..and my rab puffer jacket which doubles as a pillow, and i think can survive for a bit , oh! And my bank card aswell ..never leave home without that .
Great video and what a great location 👍
Nice one pal great wee video the views were amazing, keep up the good work new sub here. Atb Wullie ✊🏻🏴
Great video as always you were blessed with some amazing weather and views really enjoyable video thank you for posting
Thanks! Yep I was super lucky with the weather 😍
Its funny that you call a 700m hill a mountain 😁 Looking forward for my first time being in Scotland to do the WHW in September. Hope the bugs won't be too bad 🥲
It's lovely making decent coffee up a mountain, for a day hike like that your set-up is fine but for longer trips or wild camps you'll probably want to make it much lighter and more compact, and a cafetiere isn't very easy to clean if you want to make multiple brews. My go-to is an AeroPress as they're really light and there's a travel version with a cup too (I just use a standard one though), also clean up is very easy with the coffee pucks they produce meaning a quick rinse and they're ready to go again and again.
Just got back from my first ever solo hike / camp. Used by puffy coat as my warm layer and pillow abd padding for my bag straps because they made me want to cry ... also walked 20 miles in hours which was way too much for a first time so now crying with sore feet 😂😂 looking forward to watching how yours and future one's went
Looking forward to some pointing with walking poles! I feel cheated 🤣
Thank you Sophie that was a lovely hike, I really enjoyed it watching from my chair 🤣😂😆. But man they were Epic views up on top! Just stunning! Wow! 🤩 🙌💚
Mega chilled out viewing, Sophie. Your positivity and spirit are very uplifting. Thanks for sharing!
😁
Great drone use there with the DJI 3. I have one too, but any sign of wind and I'm bottling it!
Yeah I get so nervous every time I fly it! 😂 Last time I got a warning saying to land immediately due to high wind which was quite stressful 😳
I love your videos, always so cheery and adventurous 🎉❤ it makes me happy to see other people just like me doing the same things as me. Solo adventures are amazing!
Thank you so much! I love solo adventures 😃
Great hike/mountain well done ⛰️👏
Nice wee video and the views are lovely up there, it's a lovely location..... One pointer for you, Loch Katrine is Kat'rin not Ka'treen :) Oh, and at 14:18 the tiny wee loch that's to the south of Venachar is called Drunkie and, yup, it's pronounced as you'd expect.
Great video. That's a very elaborate set up for a summit cuppa. Makes me grateful that I'm a tea drinker. 😊
Looks like a great hike, quiet too was this a weekday?
it was actually a Saturday surprisingly! I left at 9:15ish so think I must’ve just gone early enough to miss the crowds 🙂
