Hi, I am David Lee Pancake, Sculptor, Illustrator, and Maker. I am located in Indianapolis, Indiana. My TH-cam Channel allows me to share my art and work techniques with you. My sculptures and illustrations represent a varied and unique repertoire of my personal interests. I pursue a wide variety of subject matter that includes dragons, superheroes, abstracts and horror sculptures and paintings. My talent expresses equally in clay or canvas. I love to play with textures in my sculptures and my attention to detail is revealed in my careful application of dragon scales and feathers. I love detail and texture and angels, dragons and other mythical creatures allow me the freedom to play with the clay and bring to life what’s inside my head. My fantasy creations are gracing homes and businesses all over the world and I am sure you wont forget my name, just think about your favorite breakfast food.
Sculpting Lairless , The Dragon
Watch as I bring “Lairless, The Dragon” to life in this 2-minute timelapse! Using Nomad Sculpt on the iPad Pro, I’ve created a 3D sculpture inspired by a character painting from artist Fian Arroyo, who also served as art director for this collaborative project. This is Part 1, focusing on the sculpting of Lairless’s head. Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll continue with the body!

Sculpting a Cute Little Dragon
มุมมอง 1902 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a tribute to my mentor, Jennie Roller, who introduced me to sci-fi conventions and art shows and encouraged me to sculpt. In this video I attempt to sculpt digitally one of Jennie's cute little dragons. She used Super Sculpey and I am using Nomad Sculpt on the iPad Pro. I 3d printed this guy on my Anycubic Mono X printer. He will be my Patreon March 2022's Dragon of the Month Club speci...
Sculpting a Primitive Battle Axe
มุมมอง 2262 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I sculpt a battle axe for my kobold. I am sculpting on the iPad Pro with the Nomad Sculpt. This is not necessarily a how to video but more of a what happened video. Hope you enjoy it. Music by my late friend, Simon Illa.
Sculpting a Kobold
มุมมอง 2212 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I sculpt the head of "Scoundrel, The Kobold" using the Nomad Sculpt app on my iPad Pro. This is a Timelapse with no commentary. Enjoy! Due to the speed of the video there is a bit of strobing (just a warning for my more light sensitive viewers).
Sculpting on the iPad Pro

How to sculpt a dragon head on the iPad Pro using the Nomad Sculpt app. A time-lapse with no commentary. The actual sculpting time was about 3 hours. I had no idea of what the look would be before I started.

Fabulous work! ❤
Love the texture on the neck scales!

Very nice black dragon model and short story
Beautiful bird dragon fuseion model craft
Great artist!
Awesome red dragon
That's who I was looking for
Nice work. I started working with resin, creating castings from my Sculpy and Monster clay sculptures. I wanted to make a silicone mold of a door knocker and was curious how I would create/assemble the parts., that is in what order?
What kind of clay did you use?
Aves Apoxie Sculpt
Thanks for sharing, David! Watching your process is very helpful.
It’s been a while since I looked for a 3D app for the iPad. I’m so excited to learn about this and try it!
Nomad is great! Check out SouthernGFX for some great tutorials and, of course, I plan on more videos too!

Great job David, congratulations my dear...
You're a terrific artist, Mr. Pancake, awesome work.
love him
Those are some amazing dolor knockers
Can't really see what he's doing.
Nice job man that turned out awesome!
Awesome
A spotlight on the piece would allow it to be viewed better on YT.
I’m impressed
I love seeing how loosely you work. That is a constant challenge for me, but it’s really the sign of a mature artist.
LOL, thanks, I think…must be my gray hair, but yeah after a few years you just give yourself permission to work loosely.
David, will you be at JordonCon this year?
Sorry. However I will be at Dragon Con.
@@DavidLeePancakeArt Will see you there!
Thank you I have been trying to create Dragon shoes for ages and all anyone talks about is Resin (which i hate) ! I've done clay tentacles before so this is amazing !
Not the MMS Jim, BUT MMS does knock down parasites connected to ethereal parasites.
Can you counter the claimed négative health effects?
@@Revivalofwisdom369Nope. The negatives are there too. But look at Andreas Kalcker whose publicly pushed mms for ~20 years. He hasn't aged a day over that 20 year span. The original Jim Humble is still alive last time I checked, well into his 90s now. The reason it keeps you young and alive it's these parasites that age the body and are behind every known disease along with mycelium.
Nice work. I'm just trying my first copper melt tonight and not doing so well. I had my door knocker from the movie labyrinth all set up to cast😭
Excellent!
Your video is awesome. I also do art. Please come and support my channel.
Saw this at school in art. We are doing a gargoyle project. Our teacher showed us this to show us details we could add
Nice work! What modeling clay did you use? Which clay is what you generally prefer to use? Thanks for this video! ❤️
I ordered my Snailien yesterday :)
Smirk looks like he's up to something....he's waiting for us to figure out what silliness he did.
Cool
Awe! I missed this! I am presuming that this was live on Twitch? I will thoroughly enjoy watching this later xx
Episode 4 premieres tonight on www.twitch.tv/dlpancake at 7:00 pm EST See ya there!
Those are awesome! I will have to try doing some myself. :D I would do skulls, seahorses, jellyfish, and all kinds of sea life. I would also love a colorful Koi door knocker. :D Thanks for sharing. - Heidi
Thanks, I will be making a "How To" video on how these were made. Stay tuned. Here is a list of links on Amazon to materials I use to sculpt and make art. davidleepancake.com/links/
@@DavidLeePancakeArt Thanks!! I look forward to that video. I have no HOA and would never live anywhere with one so I can go crazy making my Koi door knocker. :D I would also like to do something similar for a hanging bell at my fence gate. :D
I would luuuuuuv 'Link' as a doorknocker from the game Zelda! I wonder if Nintendo would mind? Maybe I will give it a try. Your work is amazing! My Hubby loves your Dragon & Cthulu door knocker.
Thank You! I will be making a "How To" video on how these were made. Stay tuned. Here is a list of links on Amazon to materials I use to sculpt and make art. @t

I love that they are anatomically correct....for a monster, I dare say....
I'm going to have to watch this later but I am very excited to do so! I have learned soooooo much from you! Thank you for what you do xx
Thanks Lavender Rainbow! That is why I do these videos. Please share with others.
You make it look so easy... but I konw its not.
That was incredibly kind of you David. Thank you for the shout out and kind words. Im looking forward to seeing you and Kat again when its safe.
Awesome, will check him out. The loss of the cons is honestly upsetting, we all look forward to them and plan our year around them. Fingers crossed online sales will change. Take care
NEW SUB!!! Stunning to say the least! You are an incredible artist! You are such an inspiration to me. What type of clay are you using? It looks like a 2-part.
Lavender Rainbow thank you! It is Aves Apoxie Clay / sculpt. It is very strong once cured overnight. Always wear gloves with this product.
WOW!!!! You have definitely inspired me! I want to make this box now! I do not have your type of clay but I have pounds & pounds of air-dry clay that may work for this. I also have polymer clay but I wouldn't use that on this as it would cost me an arm & a leg or two - lol!
Lavender Rainbow I have never tried the air dry clay. Let me know how it works out. You can get the Aves Apoxie Clay from Amazon. Here is a link to some of my favorite sculpting materials: davidleepancake.com/links/
@@DavidLeePancakeArt I live in Ontario, Canada. On Amazon they are charging $228 CDN for 4lb of this (~$162 USD). I did find 3lbs of "FIX-IT Sculpt" for $74.90. Have u ever used this? The comments say that this is better than what u are using. Hmmmm....I did click on your link but it doesn't show any sellers for your clay. I will have to look around. Keep up the awesome work - You are incredibly talented! I am just starting my sculpting journey. I do have polymer clay as well to try.
Lavender Rainbow thanks for the heads up on this issue. I have not used FIX-IT sculpt so I just don’t know. Perhaps someone else who does know can answer. Anyone? In the meantime polymer clays, while not as strong, are a great way to learn and create.
Gorgeous!
Thank you! Cheers!
