Ms.Tomo!! I’m so happy to have found you!! I’m 70 and have danced and listened to Salsa all my life. I’ve wanted to play Salsa since i was a kid. You have respect for the adult learner. The others go too fast with their examples and demonstrations. Your pace is perfect for me. I take notes and i take one hand at a time. My piano teacher feels Salsa is too advanced for my level. She’s not very familiar with the genre. You are my SALSA teacher now!! I know i will learn to play the music i love with your instruction!!! Thank you !!!🎹❤

Thank you for not going 900 miles an hour and expecting folks to play like they've been playing it their entire lives. For most folks, even serious professional musicians whose background in this particular genre is limited, it can be really complex, difficult and overwhelming. Trying to cram too much at once essentially translates into practicing mistakes. The 4 note montuno is really useful and not insanely difficult to play and it flat out can sound really good and effective for this genre of music.

Thank you Tomo for all of your videos. I play jazz flute and can read, so I also play classical but I like to close my eyes and play what I feel. I start a Piano when I was 19 and figured out the one for five progression with my thumb on the C I can use inversions to hear all three of those courts, CF and G. I’ve recently discovered that I could extend my little finger to play a minor, or the six in any key. Your salsa instructions are very very helpful to me because of the repetition and finger dexterity; they lead me to new directions with reading and playing other tunes melody in the right hand corner to the left. Keep up the great work tomo you feed the information had a piece that I understand and can follow to become better with my ear training and also handling of the keyboard and I carry all of that information to be a better Flutist.
