Short lectures in Cell Biology, Microbiology, and Organismal Biology. Most are presented at a 100/200 course level.
Seed Germination Experiment for Non-majors Biology Course
In this case experiment you will try and determine what factors are important for the germination of plant seeds. You will set up this experiment with the seeds provided in the lab kits.

Osmosis U-tube Experimental Setup
มุมมอง 15วันที่ผ่านมา
You will be observing the process of osmosis by setting up a classic u-tube experiment. In this experiment you must create 3 sugar solutions and then construct the dialysis tubing/U-tube apparatus. The experiment is repeated with all 3 concentrations and each trail lasts for 24h.
Assembling the Mirrored Base for a Carson MicroBrite Pro Scope
มุมมอง 11วันที่ผ่านมา
This is a custom designed base with an adjustable mirror for use with the Carson MicroBrite Pro. Adjusting the angle of a mirror beneath the stage allows control over the contrast and makes unstained samples and counting grids on slides highly visible.
Using Your Carson MicroBrite Pro Pocket Microscope
มุมมอง 37วันที่ผ่านมา
This is an introduction to the use of the Carson MicroBrite Pocket Microscope with a custom made mirror stage. The mirror allows for contrast adjustment and is essential for use with untrained samples and counting slides.
Effect of Light on Algal Cell Density
มุมมอง 3วันที่ผ่านมา
In this experiment you will be setting up three cultures of learning living algal cells and exposing them to different durations of light. Every 2 days you will counting the cells in samples taken from the cultures to calculate the cell Density. You will continue this experiment for 8 days minimum.
Overview of Experimental Supply Kit for non-majors Biology
มุมมอง 31วันที่ผ่านมา
This the kit for BIO1005. If you have a different course, there will be a different collection of supplies and materials. Make sure your kit has everything I describe here. You also get an overview of the experiments and their timing.
Laboratory Supply Kit
มุมมอง 2414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Here is the custom kit of supplies for your BIO1210 course. There are 15 laboratory assignments. Twelve of these will require hands-on work and some will take several hours to complete. A few will span the course of several days as they remain set-up and data is collected on a daily basis. In addition to the supplies you are given, you will have a shopping list of inexpensive materials to assem...
The Effect of Sucrose Concentration on The Rate of Fermentation in Yeast
มุมมอง 2314 วันที่ผ่านมา
This the the overview of how to set up your fermentation experiment. You need to gather some materials before starting. The balloons, string, and measuring cups are in our lab kits. You need to provide the water, sugar, yeast, and bottles for the yeast experiment.
Time Lapse of Yeast Fermentation
มุมมอง 2914 วันที่ผ่านมา
This is basically what your experiment will look like. Temperature will affect the results. This room is cooler than what would be ideal for the experiment. Also, the starting temperature of the water and flexibility of your balloons will affect the results. I recommend pre-stretching the balloons to get the best results.
Experimental Set-up: The Effect of Sugar Concentration on Yeast Cell Growth and Survival
มุมมอง 4114 วันที่ผ่านมา
This is one of several explanations of how to set up experiments in your course. In this specific experiment you will be activating dormant yeast cells, diluting the culture, adding different amounts of sugar to different treatments, adding a vital dye, and ultimately viewing the cells under a microscope to count them and calcite the cell density of the solution.
Cleaning and Caring for your Counting Slide: InCyto C- chip
มุมมอง 3914 วันที่ผ่านมา
Students will be using a special slide with a counting grid through out the semester. They will need to reuse this slide multiple times to collect data on cell density between different cell cultures and different treatments of these cultures. This is how you must clean the slide after every use.
Eukaryotic vs Prokaryotic Cells
มุมมอง 8321 วันที่ผ่านมา
We are comparing the similarities and differences between Prokaryotic (Bacteria and Archaea) and Eukaryotic (Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia) cells.
Gene Expression: Part 1
มุมมอง 59หลายเดือนก่อน
Transcription is the beginning of gene expression. Not all genes are transcribed. Of those that are transcribed, some carry the code for amino acid sequence of future proteins but many are part of then cellular machinery that decodes genetic information and constructs the new polypeptides. This is an introduction to that process.
Gene Expression: Part 2
มุมมอง 34หลายเดือนก่อน
Translation is the process of taking sequences of nucleotides in messenger RNA and decoding them into a sequence of amino acids, forming a new polypeptide. Three major types of RNA interact in this process and each plays a unique and important role.

im so happy this FINANLLY MAKES SENSE! you're such a life saver.... so so good and the images and speed were so perfect. I love your content
Thank you very much for this explanation !
Thank you very much for this very clear video
If only I had found your channel before, id learn animal anatomy much better
thk u so much for your help!
thankyou for the explanation! super helpful !
Very interesting.
Wouldend mind learning more about those diverent types of cells
I like this a lot
Thank you ❤
Man your contents are superb ❤ well done 🫡
Thanks from Iraq🇮🇶
These are great! Would love to see them organized into a micro’ playlist ❤
❤
The only evolution is de-evolution due to a corruption of the gnome (dna)
Great video thank you
the way you teach just makes my brain absorb it immediately. eternally grateful that i found your channel! keep up the good work
These videos are incredibly helpful! Thank you sir😁
Yours lecture give me a lot of help, thank you sir. (My English is kind of broken, sorry.)
the board noisee 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Thank you sir !!
💛
💚
thank you can i call you
why is he so underrated??
Where is the next video, on all the variations ?
thank you!
My botany professor would flip out on your spelling of Ginkgo :)
Have you seen a virus? Not a computer generated graghic or a theory. Have you seen ome?
Im pretty sure most acoelomates (except like acoelomorpha) and all pseudocoelomates are considered protostomes in modern taxonomy. These classic textbook relations between morphology and systematics (somewhat sadly) just cant hold up anymore.
Brilliant video thank you 😊
Concentration is the independent variable and should be on the x-axis; absorbance is the dependent variable and should be on the y-axis. That's what I have been taught in university.
Great stuff !!
So interesting...
Fantastic... excellent presentation... thank you
this was an amazing lecture! thank you so much!
A life-saving video, thanks for the clarifying explanation :)
This is impressive ❤. Thank you from Egypt. We have a lesson about it ,so l wanted to know more information then l found you .
The board is a piece of plexiglass I mounted in a wood frame and edged with an led light strip.
How did you create this board? interesting
Beautiful work.
Exceptionally intresting and just the best diagramatic representation. Thank you for the explanation.
Hi do you have any recommendations on teachers that produce similar videos to yours but cover chemistry 1 & 2? Your videos and teaching mechanics are truly amazing and allow me to learn more at a faster rate. You made Biology 1 & 2 exceptionally conceptual so thank you for helping me!
Very good video, may I suggest using little darker color to write its features because it becomes hard to see it as it blends with skin
Not me fascinated by hus board lol
***9:07 Endotoxin 😢😢
Great video.
Thank you 🥹🩵
I'm a teacher in a brazilian public school, so our resources are really scarces. You helped me a lot with this low cost tube rack, I'll use it in my Science classes. Thank you!
