This sounds exactly like the original, at least to my ears. Not that I'm complaining. FF music is ALWAYS top notch.

I initially refused to play this game because I'm annoyed with remakes. After all, the first game was PHENOMENAL. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's when I saw FFVII Remake available for "free" on Playstation Plus, and I decided, "Why not?" I started playing and IMMEDIATELY got sucked in. It's so well done, it brings tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry I felt this remake was going to be another cash grab. It's such a perfect tribute to the original, and the music- as always- is SUPERB!

I remember when the trailers were still out, a bunch of composers tried making garbage versions of what the final product was going to sound like. They didn't even come close to the _bona fide_ final product.

There was something familiar with this track so i googled the composers name and there you have it, same composer for The Last Remnant. These heavy guitar rifs and mix and transitions he makes make Tsuyoshi Sekito's sound very iconic.
