Correction! The factor form of quadratic equation is y=a(x+p)(x+q) where p & q are roots(or zeros). In the video, I missed "a" which is same parameter in both standard form and vertex form. It is shape factor which determine how wide or narrow the curve is as well as decides whether it upward or downward parabola. Sorry for the mistake.

Thanks for stopping by. The quotient rule still works for the implicit differentiation but one thing to take care about is the chain rule. We shouldn't forget it. For example if we have (2x/y) =3; (simple form), then if we want to find dyldx: 1. We can do implicit differentiation using quotient rule as: 1/y^2* {y2(1) - 2xdy/dx}=0 xdy/dx=y dy/dx=y/x. Just we shouldn't forget the chain rule even in implicit differentiation. 2. Other way: 2x=3y 2=3dy/dx dy/dx=2/3. Though (1) and (2) may look different, they are indeed equal and consistent. In (1), if you substitute x=3y/2 from the original function, it will yield in (1) as: dy/dx=y*{2/3y}=2/3 which corresponds to (2).
