This guy will never learn.. he sounds like an old alcoholic. I thought his trial was under influence of some influential friends. Edit: I WAS on his side in that trial. But apparently he is a bully too and he does not want to be better.

Boy, this hits home on so many levels. My son was an awkward child, he was intelligent but hated school because he was bored by it. He drove me to distraction with his half-arsed attitude to study, and to his teachers. He didn’t get it. He’s now 36, a father to a young daughter, and a teacher. He’s had a complete turn-around in his life, and he gets it now. I showed him this clip a couple of weeks back, and he welled up, as does anyone with a heart who listens to it. I couldn’t be more proud of my kid, because Mr Pigden showed us all what it truly is to be a teacher. I had my own Mr Pigden at Chapel End Junior High school in Walthamstow in the ‘70’s, he was a black South African teacher called Mr Cooke and he turned my life around. When I left he wrote in my leaving book in Zulu. It said “Climb to the top of the mountain!” I like to think I did him proud, an east London working class kid who ended up going to university in 1981 and becoming an engineer. This should be shown to every kid in the land who thinks he is undervalued, because no matter what, there is someone who believes in you. RIP Mr Pigden

The clip where they meet in the grandstands is my all time favorite on YT. What a heartwarming story, all of it, from start to finish. Somebody should make a movie.
