Apologies. There was a problem with audio. So had to cancel the stream. It is being recorded and filmed. Will share ASAP! TM
The first time I heard Timothy McAllister I randomly checked out some saxophone material at a local university music library 23 years ago. What struck me was his consistency across the range of the instrument. He is able to round out those open notes just like the closed notes. The altissimo was bonkers. Thank you for posting this Timothy!
Excellent
So excited for this. This combo of composer and performer is unbeatable.
Congrats on this! Chandos is known for its great-sounding recordings, and the excerpts of the piece make me want to hear more. Two questions: Where did the recording session take place? (Quite amazing-looking environs.) And, when will the recording be released?
Thanks for listening! June 14 is release date. This was in a beautiful cathedral in northern London.
Bravo❤
Hi Dr. Excuse me, could you share me this study book? A cordial greeting from Mexico.
how do i get such a buttery tone like that? tips?
A tm2 achei na Espanha mas para enviar é mais caro que a boquilha
Essa boquilha tm2 é muito difícil de encontrar
So great, thank you for sharing.
Well Done! These songs paint the words with sensitivity and wit. Thank you.

What a knee-slapper!
Lucky Middlebury! So many things I could target for praise, but I'll focus on one: I loved how you employed a darker sound for the Bayolo, a contrast that stood out even more when placed beside the Cutler. One of the best things about the saxophone (if you ask me) is its incredibly wide range of tonal colors - second only, I think, to the orchestral strings (and the human voice, of course). It's great to hear a musician who, aside from the obvious technical mastery, has in his arsenal a variety of timbres to "paint" with, and who carefully considers how and when to make use of them. _Bravo sempre!_

Wonderful new project. Can't wait to receive my CD!
Wonderful playing, Tim and Liz! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing performance, so incredibly happy to see you upload again.
This is a wonderful work. Too bad I'm retired, it would have been a pleasure to bring this to my ensemble.
Thank you Eric, that's nice to hear!
I was confused about the silence at the beginning. I was wondering if there was a problem with my sound. Once they started playing, the most I can say from a single hearing is that it is interesting,
Fantastic interpretation! ☺
I don’t know whether the composer here is familiar with Spike Jones, but this piece is reminiscent of his old style of musical parody. But I think musical blats and farts sound funnier when played on an actual kazoo or similar gadget than when performed as extended techniques by a virtuoso saxophonist. I'll grant that it's something different, though.
when someone asks you to play careless whisper but you're classically trained
Bravo ! Great technique and great, wonderful soundquality !
wicked tone, great playing!
In 7/4 time , tempo too fast because not alway tight and lining up sounded hectic and frazzled other wise great piece
This is, why? (nevertheless lol great performance as always)
Bravo! Thank-you for sharing this masterful performance. In times like this, we need more things like this to give us hope.
bruh ur kinda good at sax, you should try going pro.
Lovely. Thank you.
Amazing performance! 🥰
This is so funny 😂 and also an amazing performance and composition!! 😊 I love it, thanks for sharing!
Sounds amazing. And lovely to hear it on a Bb sax. Thanks!
It's written specifically for Bb sax (soprano usually, I've heard tenor and bass as well) iirc
Your musical expressionism, your clean tone and your technique are great.
wooow mr. Mcallister!
haha I am in LOVE with this! Thanks for sharing!
This is really great. An excellent example of effective humor in a well-written piece.
Glad you like it! One conceptual idea expressed by the composer is that the piece deconstructs the tune as it might sound if an 80’s mixtape was being chewed up by a malfunctioning, classic-style Boombox...warped, percussive sounds, stuttering lyrics, wailing sax all with the volume cutting in and out. Hopefully a fun and challenging closer to a recital program. Look for the entire studio recording album next summer!
@@timothymcallister4944 That's pretty funny... although it doesn't sound like a "damaged" tape. Too well-structured. More like a "mystique concrete" type of thing, if anything. But what a hoot! I *loved* the moment when I realized what was going on!!
Broke: careless whisper Woke: Careful shouts
Bravo👏🏻 👏🏻 🎷🔝 All the best, Lucía from Just4Sax
Thank you, Lucia! Best to you and Just4Sax!!
@@timothymcallister4944 ☺ 👍🏻👍🏻
Such a creative composition! Great playing Dr McAllister, amazing control!
Much appreciated, Jason!
She also wrote a duo for two saxes, no? Very different from this piece, as I recall.
About one minute in, I said, out loud, "Oh no..."
Never in my life would I think that Dr. McAllister would play careless whisper
The joy of performances like this is what keeps composers going!
Working with composers like YOU keep me going.
This is awesome.
It goes without saying that the playing is stunning (as it always is!), but what really stole the show is that black French cuff shirt. Now you’re just showing off! 🔥
(1) Please keep producing content…y’all’s stuff is absolutely amazing, fun to watch/listen to, and there is always something to look forward to (2) I was CONVINCED I liked your Series III better but the more I keep listening to you on the Supreme, the more of a no-brainer it is.
It’s like Robert Redford in The Natural, Fantastic-
Amazing
